Jim Tomey

Jim Tomey begins his 42 season coaching basketball in San Diego. Cathedral Catholic is Coach Tomey’s fourth stop in the past 42 years. 13 years at university of San Diego High School, 6 years at San Diego State University where he coached both boys and girls. At the end of Coach Tomey’s tenure at USDHS he was inducted into the San Diego Hall of Fame finishing with 540 victories in 27 high school seasons. Coach Tomey has been inducted into three separate Hall of Fames. USDHS, CIFSD Coaching Legend, and Francis Parker Independent School.

Coach Tomey has won 18 CIF Titles in three sports. 10 in boys basketball, 4 in Softball and 4 in Tennis. He is one of 4 coaches to win a California State Basketball Title. Tomey’s successful career including 4 California final fours.

Coach Tomey has directed camps all over the world. Camp stops include South Africa three times, Mexico City and The Netherlands to name a few. Coach T is considered to be one of the top camp/coaching clinician in the country. You will have fun while he makes you a better player.
