Joe Holmes - Co-Director

Joseph “Joe” Holmes is a mentor, coach, and community leader from Seat Pleasant, Maryland. Overcoming early challenges, he used his athletic talent to earn scholarships to Tyler Junior College, the University of Nebraska, and Pfeiffer University, where he earned a B.A. in Sociology.

With over 25 years of experience, Joe has dedicated his career to mentoring behaviorally challenged youth through academics, life skills, and sports. Expanding his impact, he founded The General’s Future Charity, Inc., a nonprofit committed to uplifting underserved communities through mentoring, enrichment programs, and community events.

Joe has also made a significant impact as a coach, shaping the lives of countless student-athletes through his work at Sidwell Friends School, the Alana Beard Future AAU Program, and Jacksonville College. His coaching expertise has not only developed players’ technical skills and basketball IQ but has also instilled in them the discipline, resilience, and leadership needed to succeed on and off the court. Under his guidance, many of his former players have gone on to compete at the highest levels, including the WNBA, NBA, and professional leagues overseas, further cementing his legacy as a mentor and game-changer in the basketball community.

Joe’s journey from adversity to leadership reflects his resilience and passion for inspiring the next generation.
