Joe Wittmer

Football Director

Joe Wittmer - Football Director

Joe Wittmer is the offensive line and strength & conditioning coach at East LA College and serves as a football director for Next Athletes and Nike Football Camps. Coach Wittmer previously coached at his alma mater, University of La Verne, and Warner High School where he was the run game coordinator.

Wittmer’s journey in the sport began at Warren High School, where he played under legendary head coach Raul Lara. As a player, he learned firsthand the values of toughness, preparation, and accountability—qualities that continue to shape his coaching philosophy. Following a successful high school career, he continued his playing days at Pasadena City College before transferring to the University of La Verne. At La Verne, Wittmer further developed his technical knowledge and passion for the game, gaining a deeper understanding of offensive line play and the physical and mental demands required of student-athletes.

As a coach, Wittmer emphasizes discipline, toughness, and technical excellence in the trenches. His approach blends his firsthand experience as a collegiate athlete with a commitment to building strong, physical offensive lines that drive the success of the run game. He takes pride in developing players not just on the field, but also in their character and leadership, ensuring they are prepared for success in football and in life.

Beyond the field, Wittmer is deeply rooted in his family and community. He values time with his loved ones and is active in his church, where he finds fulfillment in giving back and staying connected. His ability to balance his passion for football with his devotion to family and faith adds depth to his role as a mentor and leader for his players.

Wittmer enters this season committed to bringing energy, accountability, and steady leadership to the East Los Angeles College football program, with the goal of continuing to build strong, disciplined offensive lines that set the foundation for team success.
