at Nike Contact Football Camps

Don’t miss your chance this summer to make new friendships and receive elite-level training at our Nike Contact Football Camp Westminster University in Salt Lake City, UT. Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Sports Camps at Westminster, provides the perfect environment to learn from some of the best coaches in the country. The staff will ensure a positive and encouraging atmosphere each day as campers have a great time competing with each other. Each day, campers will develop fundamentals and advanced skills, focusing on footwork, offensive and defensive skills, individual positions, team plays, and game situations.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

The overnight program includes instruction, training and fun games, overnight accommodations, all meals, FUN evening activities and more. Our amazing staff resides in the dorms in adjacent rooms to the campers and provides supervision throughout the camp. There will be several other Nike Sports Camps on campus during the same week, including Softball, Soccer, Swim and Cross Country. These camps will participate in individual instruction during the day for their respective sport, but campers will be brought together for meals and evening activities to have a more diverse group of campers to socialize with throughout camp.

DAY CAMP (9:00AM – 4:00PM)

The Nike Football Camp at Westminster also offers a day camp program for campers who do not wish to stay overnight. This option includes instruction and daytime activities only. The schedule is modified on the first and last days of camp.

Note: There is no rental equipment available. Each camper will need to bring their own equipment.

    On-Field Director Will Hawes

    Will Hawes is the former head coach for Judge Memorial Catholic High School and serves as the football director for Next Athletes. Coach Hawes has been a football coach for nearly 25 years and now serves as the Community Relations Coordinator for Judge Memorial. Coach Hawes played collegiate football at Weber State University and has a wealth of athlete and coaching knowledge to share with each young athlete.

Camp Details

Nike Contact Football Camps feature full contact drills and scrimmages with a staff of college coaches and players. At camp, "contact" is introduced in a slow, gradual progression before any actual "contact" is initiated. Campers are divided according to age, weight, and ability. The instruction stresses both individual positions and team play with every camper.

Please note: UPPERS ONLY camp. Contact drills, but no tackling. Wrap up and form only

2024 CAMP INFORMATION

  • Dates: June 17-21, 2024
  • Age Group: 12-17
  • Gender: Boys
  • Camp Type: Overnight | Day
  • Day Camp Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm, Friday 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Check-in: OVERNIGHT campers check-in between 7:30-8:00am on Monday in front of Hogle Hall. There will be camp staff at the entrance to direct you. Overnight campers will check into their dorm prior to arrival. DAY campers should arrive between 8:00-8:30am at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center. There will be a camp orientation at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center at 8:30am following check-in which we highly encourage the parent or guardian to attend. Parents are welcome to depart following orientation.
  • Check-out: A closing ceremony will take place at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center 12:00pm on Friday. Day Campers will be picked up immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check out from the dorm immediately following orientation.
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.

Please note: Football instruction will take place at the football field at Judge Memorial Catholic HS and we will bus the overnight kids there from campus. Day campers will have a hybrid drop-off schedule, but most days they will be dropped off and picked up at the field at Judge Memorial Catholic HS. Overnight campers will be bussed back and forth.

PARKING

OVERNIGHT parents may temporarily pull to the curb in front of Hogle Hall for a quick drop-off/pick-up of luggage. OVERNIGHT and DAY camp parents may park in the parking garage beneath Dumke Field (a short walk to Behnken Field House

HOUSING

  • Dorm: Hogle Hall
  • Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Bathrooms: Shared
  • Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
  • Air Conditioning: Yes

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are initially grouped by age and moved around accordingly based on skill level.

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Football Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
