Jon Gwizdala

Jon Gwizdala, a native of Bay City, Mich. and member of the USA Men's National Softball Team, joins head coach Amber Bowman's coaching staff for the 2020 season.

Gwizdala's playing resume is highlighted by over 20 years of competitive softball pitching experience including All-American and All-World honors a combined nine times as well as being named MVP of a national tournament twice. He participated in and finished fifth at the 2019 World Tournament in Prague, Czech Republic and traveled as an alternate to the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru where Team USA took home the silver medal. Currently, Gwizdala is a member of the athlete pool for the 2021 World Tournament in Aukland, New Zealand.
Jon played baseball at the junior college level at Delta College (2010-12). As a freshman, he was president of the school's club program while playing both first base and pitching. As a sophomore, Gwizdala was a team captain for the first varsity squad in program history while being used primarily as a relief pitcher. Once his two years of eligibility with the Pioneers were over, Jon volunteered with the school's softball program in 2012-13 and 2016. He also completed his undergrad at Central Michigan while working with the Chippewa softball team as a practice player in 2014. Gwizdala has spent the past three years in the classroom as a secondary educator.
