Lavaughn Hughes

Lavaughn Hughes is a native of Prince George’s County, MD and played football at a high level for over 10 years. He graduated High School in 2009 from Gwynn Park High School and received a full scholarship to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Lavaughn made an immediate impact from Day 1; becoming a true freshman. Hughes, A 4 year starter at West Virginia Wesleyan, had over 4,000 career All Purpose yards. Selected as a Division II All American in 2012 and was Ranked #1 NATIONALLY for Punt Return avg (28.6). Set school records for single game (183), season (453) and career (629) punt return yards in his junior season. Was selected to All Super Region One Team(2012), All Conference WVIAC 2012 & 2013. Hughes had 393 All Purpose Yards vs. WV State, which was the third most in a single game by any player in Division II in 2012, and achieved numerous player of the week awards. In addition, he serves as Vice President of Respect and Honor Academy which is the premier athletic training and personal development company in the DC,MD,and VA metropolitan area. At RH Academy, we offer athletic training, mentorship and life skills, community service, and college tours.
