Matt Toner

Matt Toner is the Assistant Coach of the Adelphi University Women's Volleyball Team.

Matt Toner is in his eighth season with the Adelphi University volleyball team in 2018 in all aspects of the program, including practice management and scouting.

Toner, a USA Volleyball certified coach, brings over eight years of sideline experience to Adelphi. The bulk of his knowledge was gained with the Long Island Big Apple Volleyball Club (LIBA), an organization that Toner has coached with since 2004, working with various high school aged athletes.

A graduate of Queens College, Toner has taught physical education at the elementary school level and also earned his master's degree at Queens College.

He currently serves as the co-director of the Dawn Patrol Beach Volleyball Club in Long Beach. Toner has enjoyed a successful local beach career, including tournament victories over nationally-ranked competition. He has competed in AVP tournaments and has participated in USAV nationals numerous times including a 12th place finish out of 70 teams in 2013.
