Massaro Mike

Former CSU-Pueblo all-conference selection, Pueblo-native and current professional baseball player, Mike Massaro, is entering his fifth season as a volunteer assistant coach with the CSU-Pueblo baseball program.

As a hitting coach for the Pack, Massaro guided Jordan Godman to All-American honors in 2016.

Massaro, drafted in the 13th round of 2005 MLB draft by the Oakland Athletics, reached as high as AAA in the Athletics' system, earning such honors as Northwest League Player of the Month in July 2005 with the Vancouver Canadiens, and Midwest League All-Star honors with the Class A Kane County Cougars in 2007.

From 2009-2012, Massaro has been a member of the Gary Southshore Railcats in the independent American Association, establishing himself as one of the league's top players. He was a 2009 all-star with the Railcats and holds numerous franchise records, including career batting and triples.

As a member of the ThunderWolves from 2003 to 2005, Massaro was a two-time all-conference selection and earned all-RMAC Tournament honors twice. In 2005, he accomplished the rare feat of earning all-tournament honors both as a pitcher and outfielder. He is currently the CSU-Pueblo career leader in at bats, runs scored, hits and fielding percentage by an outfielder.

At Pueblo East High School in Pueblo, Colo., Massaro was a three-time first-team South Central League selection and the league's batting champion as a senior in 2002.
