Mike Newton
Assistant Baseball Coach - Camp Director
Mike Newton returned to the Regis baseball coaching staff prior to the 2022 season and was promoted to Pitching Coach in July.
Prior to joining the staff at Regis University, Newton was the Head Coach at Erie High School and lead the Tigers to a 25-16 record and made the post season two of three years, one being the Covid year in which the season was cancelled.
Additionally, Newton has coached over the last 20 years at several high schools which include Niwot, Silver Creek and Lakewood. His responsibilities included pitchers, hitters and outfielders and over that time, those teams reached one final four, three final eights, two final 16's, three District Championships, two League Titles and 10 playoff appearances.
Newton began his college career at Lamar Community College where he pitched and played outfield for the Antelopes and then finished his college career at Regis University where he pitched, played outfield and first base.
After playing at Regis University, Newton stayed and was the Assistant Coach working with the pitching staff for the 1990 and 1991 seasons. The 1991 team was elected to the Regis University Hall of Fame.
Newton is a native of Colorado and grew up in Lakewood where he played all three sports at Alameda High School.
