Olivia Lane

Olivia Lane is the sprints and jumps coach at University of North Dakota and serves as a support coach for Next Athletes and Nike Track & Field Camps. In 2023, Coach Lane’s coaching helped Elise Ulseth become an Honorable mention All-American in the heptathlon for the second consecutive season. Ulseth took 19^th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Under her direction, Malene Kollberg won the pentathlon title at the summit league indoor championships and headlined the all conference team for UND. Teammate Tiffanie Magnusson, name the newcomer of the summit league championship was the runner-up in the pentathlon and broke the long jump school record at the meet. At the end of the indoor season the UND pentathlon team ranking was number five in the nation, the highest a group from North Dakota has ever finished.

Preceding North Dakota Lane Coached at Ashland university. Here she assisted in the coaching of sprints and jumps. In the indoor 2022 season Ashland university’s men’s team were national runner ups at the division two NCAA track and field championships scoring 49 points. Some highlights of the meet include Trevor Bassitt as leading point scorer winning both the 60 m hurdles and the 400 m dash and assisting in the win of the 4x400m. Notably the men’s 4x400 meter relay were national champions at that meet.

As a student athlete Lane competed as a heptathlete at the Eastern Oregon University. Here she competed at six national meets in various events ranging from the heptathlon/pentathlon to the 4 x 400m. Lane achieved all American status in these events, with a 8^th place finish in the indoor pentathlon and 5^th place finish in the 4x400m relay. In her senior season Lane was the conference field athlete of the meat scoring 31 points in 7 different events.
