Bob Bates was appointed Assistant Softball Coach in September of 2015. Bates came from an extensive background in 18u Premier Travel Softball, A.S.A travel softball and Premier Girls Fastpitch.

Additionally, Bates served as Assistant Coach for both the Waterloo Central High School and Cayuga Community College softball programs. During his time at Waterloo High School from 2008-2013, the varsity softball team became two-time Section V Class BB Champions and two-time FL East DII Champions. Bates served as Assistant Coach at Cayuga Community College from 2013-2015 where he worked on building a positive and goal orientated atmosphere for student-athletes.

Over the last five years, the addition of coaching on the collegiate level has amplified his passion for leading our youth through the game of softball.

In speaking of his recent appointment to Head Coach, Bates states, "Coach Nichols worked hard to build Onondaga Softball into a great program. I am very enthusiastic to continue building on the foundation she has set in place. The number one focus for my staff and I will be the continuation of guiding our young ladies to become hard working successful student-athletes,"
