Scott Loiseau

University of Dayton Vice President/Director of Athletics Neil Sullivan announced Scott Loiseau as the next head coach for the Flyer baseball team on June 24, 2024.
Loiseau was most recently the Associate Head Coach at Penn State after spending the previous 14 seasons as head coach at NCAA Division II Southern New Hampshire. In his lone season with the Nittany Lions, he helped PSU to its first winning record since the 2016 season.
In his 14-year career as a head coach, Loiseau compiled a record of 480-209-2 (.696), leading the Penmen to 11 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including eight NCAA Regional finals (including seven-straight) and five trips to the NCAA Division II College World Series. SNHU won 25 or more games in his final 11 seasons at the helm, including seven 40+ win seasons and a 50-win season in 2016.
In addition to six Northeast-10 Coach of the Year awards, Loiseau was named NCBWA East Region Coach of the Year four times, ABCA East Region Coach of the Year five times and NEIBA East Region Coach of the Year six times.
At the time of his departure from SNHU in 2023, Loiseau ranked eighth in winning percentage among active Division II head coaches.
Prior to his head coaching stint at Southern New Hampshire, Loiseau spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Franklin Pierce and one season at Holy Cross. The Ravens won three NCAA Northeast Region titles and advanced to the Division II College World Series, while he helped produce three NE10 Players of the Year, a Pitcher of the Year, and over 30 All-Conference selections. He also spent the 2007 season with the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod Baseball League as an assistant coach.
A 2002 graduate of Franklin Pierce where he played for former Dayton baseball coach Jayson King, Loiseau had a decorated career for the Ravens, earning All-NE-10 and Rawlings All-Region as a senior, while ranking among the career leaders in runs scored (1st), hits (3rd), batting average (8th), and home runs (8th) at the time of his graduation. He played professionally for two seasons in the Can-Am League for the Worcester Tornadoes, helping win a Can-Am League title in 2005. Loiseau and his wife, Haley, have four daughters, Lily, Summer, Mila, and Blake.
