Skelly Kellar

Head Coach at Southeastern University

Skelly Kellar - Head Coach at Southeastern University

Skelly Kellar comes to SEU with over 20 years of soccer experience as a student-athlete and professional player as well as being an assistant, club, and head coach at various levels.

"Skelly brings a wealth of experience and a vast recruiting network to our women's soccer program," said Watson. "He has both taken over and started programs and each time has found success, and I don't think SEU will be any different. Most importantly, he will invest in our student-athletes by leading, guiding, listening, and working with them as they navigate their college journey."

Kellar's most recent head coaching experience was at Ottawa University – Arizona (OUAZ), where he started the program, leading the team to an NAIA National Championship final site appearance in 2023. In seven seasons he amassed a record of 84-36-12 (.700). He was honored as Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) coach of the year in 2020 and 2023.

"I'm thrilled and honored to be chosen to lead this program and build upon its past success," said Kellar. "I'd like to thank Dr. Ingle, Drew Watson, and the administrative team for this opportunity. I'm grateful that God has opened this door to allow me to continue to invest in the lives of young women on and off the pitch and am excited to get going and see what we can accomplish."

Before OUAZ, Kellar had a four-year stint at Mid-America Nazarene University, where he transformed the program into one with national prominence, leading the Pioneers to their first NAIA National Tournament appearance in program history in 2016.

Kellar got his start in coaching at Scottsdale Community College, where he took a team who had not won a game the year before and led them to an NJCAA semi-final in his third season. The team made four straight NJCAA postseason appearances and for his efforts, Kellar was named 2011 ACCAC Coach of the Year.

He played collegiately at then-NAIA Azusa Pacific University before playing professionally with the Cleveland City Stars.
