Terrell Whitehead - Coach

Terrell Whitehead is a former NFL player for the Jacksonville Jaguars along with an All-Conference, and All-American safety in college. Terrell began his playing career at Kempsville high school and immediately made an impact. He was selected to First-team All-Tidewater and All-Beach District his junior and senior seasons, making him one of the top players in the state.

During his time at Kempsville they maintained an above .500 record and finished with back to back 8-2 seasons. He went on to play collegiate football for Norfolk State University and play as a true freshman. During his Sophomore season, Terrell started all 11 games at free safety, was named to the All-MEAC first team ,after only being named to the second during the preseason, voted a third-team All-American by The Sports Network and also a first-team All-State Division I selection by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID). After a stellar Sophomore season, he followed it up by leading the MEAC in interceptions as a junior and tied for sixth nationally with six interceptions. Started every game for the second consecutive year and was a first-team All-MEAC selection along with third-team Sports Network All-American for the second year in a row and named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Division I second team.

Terrell finished his stellar career as three-time All-American and one of the best defensive back in Norfolk State University history. Terrell was signed as a free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars and spent 2 seasons with the team as a free safety. A shoulder injury cut short what would have been a great NFL career. Terrell went into coaching shortly after as a defensive back coach for Salem high school in 2014. Salem made the playoffs multiple years during his time there and he sent dozens of athletes to college as well. Terrell is currently coaching at Green Run high school and continuing to impact the lives of young athletes everywhere.
