Former Nebraska Wesleyan All-American Trevor Johnson is in his third season as an assistant coach for the Prairie Wolves.
Johnson, who completed his playing career in 2014, was the first NWU basketball player in school history to earn All-America honors and Academic All-America honors in the same season. He was named honorable mention NAIA Division II All-American as a senior and was First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-America in 2013-14.
As a senior in 2013-14, Johnson was one of the top players in the GPAC as he ranked in the top ten in the league in both scoring and rebounding. He averaged 17.5 points and 6.6 rebounds and shot 64.3 percent from the field to rank third in NAIA II in that category.
The Lincoln, Neb., native was First-Team All-GPAC as a senior and a three-time All-Conference selection for his career. He was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, was a finalist for Josten’s NCAA III Outstanding Player of the Year award and earned a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The Lincoln Pius X graduate went over the 1,000 career point plateau finishing with 1,088 career points.
Johnson graduated from NWU in 2014 with a degree in biology. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in management from Doane College in Lincoln.
