at Nike Golf Camps

Nike Golf Camps return to Lawrenceville, New Jersey this summer, hosted at the renowned campus of The Lawrenceville School! Led by Men's Head Golf Coach at University of Rochester, Dan Wesley, junior golfers will experience collegiate level coaching, world-class facilities and an outstanding golf curriculum designed to improve every aspect of the game.

HISTORIC FACILITIES

Across The Lawrenceville School's 800-acre campus, campers will reside in air-conditioned residence halls, with rooms located near camp staff for supervision and support. With access to campus dining, common areas, and the historic "Big Red" atmosphere, campers will enjoy a true overnight camp experience while developing independence, confidence, and lasting memories both on and off the course.

DAILY INSTRUCTION & COURSE PLAY

The camp combines high-level instruction from Division III coaches with real on-course application at Springfield Golf Center. Campers will learn the core fundamentals of full swing, short game, and putting, while also being introduced to the same practice routines, training habits, and performance-focused drills used by collegiate programs nationwide. Each afternoon, campers will take their their development to the course, playing alongside camp staff who provide coaching in real time—covering course management, shot selection, pre-shot routine, and how to score under pressure.

WELCOME ROUND

Camp will kick off with a 9-hole welcome round at The Lawrenceville School Golf Course, followed by dinner and evening activities. Please come prepared for golf on the first day of camp!

FULL DAY CAMP

Local residents have the option of participating in the day camp which runs from 8:30am - 4:30pm. This option includes all golf instruction, lunch, and course play. Day campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at The Lawrenceville School each day.

Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number and age, grade level, and/or gender).

    Head Men's Golf Coach, University of Rochester

    Dan Wesley is the Head Men's Golf Coach at University of Rochester. Dan has also directed Nike Junior Golf Camps in Rochester, NY in previous years and serves as co-camp coordinator for the Nike Short Game Camps.

    Head Men's Golf Coach, University of Rochester

    Head Coach Dan Wesley returned to his alma mater in 2007 to take over the Yellowjacket golf program and recently completed his 16th season as head coach in 2022-23.

    Wesley has guided the ‘Jackets to 24 tournament victories, 31 runner-ups, and 81 top-3 finishes in 139 events.

    Last season, the Yellowjackets ranked number two in school history, shooting a combined 300.8 scoring average across nine tournaments. UR won the Fred Kravetz Invitational, shooting a record score of 593, added a win at the St. John Fisher Invitational and was runner-up at the Hershey Cup. Junior Kerry Wang was named an All-American and three golfers, Wang, Gary Pan, and Brendan Frain earned All-Region honors.

    2021-22 was a record-setting award season for Rochester, as Wesley coached four golfers to All-Region 2 accolades and five to GCAA All-America Scholar praise.

    Declan Hickton was named a GCAA Honorable Mention All-American in 2020-21. He was selected as an individual to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships and placed in the top half of the field.

    UR claimed the Liberty League Championship in 2016-17 for only the third time in school history, as the Yellowjackets tallied 1,233 strokes over the 72-hole conference event spanning tournaments in the fall and spring seasons. At NCAA's UR placed 26th of 42 squads, missing the cut after scoring 637 through two rounds.

    Wesley was voted as the Liberty League Coach of the Year in 2016-17, his second award, after being recognized by the league in 2013-14.

    In 2013-14, Rochester claimed the Liberty League Championship in a match play format which earned them an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship in Greensboro, NC where they set a program scoring record in NCAA competition and finished 12th in the nation.

    Individual honors earned under Wesley’s guidance include All-American honors Nick Palladino (2011, 2012, 2013, & 2014) who also won the Phil Mickelson award for NCAA national Freshman of the Year, Jason Paek in 2018, Declan Hickton in 2021 and Kerry Wang in 2023. Palladino finished his career as the only 4-time All-American in program history.

    Wesley's golfers have claimed a total of 82 All-Conference accolades, including 34 1st Team honorees spanning the UAA and Liberty League. Nine have been selected either UAA or Liberty League Player of the Year.

    There have been 16 different All-American Scholars under Coach Wesley; Stephen Goodridge (2008), Jon Pecor (2008, 2009), Chris Driscoll (2010), Ryan Williams (2010, 2011), Dominick Schumacher (2015, 2016), G.W. VanderZwaag (2015, 2016), Jona Scott (2016, 2017), Daniel Luftspring (2016, 2017), Jason Paek (2017, 2018), Jack Mulligan (2019), Declan Hickton (2021), Nishant Datta (2021, 2022), Brendan Frain (2021, 2022), Lewis Raboy (2022), Tom Liu (2022) and Kerry Wang (2022).

    A 1994 graduate of Rochester, Wesley played for the legendary Don Smith and served as team captain his senior year. While at Rochester, Wesley played in three NCAA Championships, helping the Yellowjackets to a sixth place finish and their highest ranking ever in the national poll. Wesley also was a three time All-UAA selection.

    After graduating from Rochester with a B.S. in Psychology, Wesley served as an assistant golf professional at The Country Club of Rochester and at The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida before moving on to sales representative positions with both Maxfli and Srixon.

    While at The Country Club of Rochester, Coach Wesley learned under Sam Urzetta, the 1950 US Amateur champion and longtime Rochester sports legend, and his son Michael, the current head professional at CCR.

    Wesley is also a current member of the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame Committee, and is a past Chairman of the NCAA All-American Committee.

    Coach Wesley resides in Pittsford with his wife Kelly (UR ’00), daughter Emma, and son Jack.

Camp Details

These programs are designed for boys and girls between the ages of 12-18. The staff is on hand to provide campers with top quality instruction each day. At Nike Golf Camps we accommodate all skill levels; the junior player just discovering the game, the high school player trying to move up on the team, and the tournament level junior looking to improve his or her tournament results. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.

    • Full Day: 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Check-In: Registration occurs on Sunday from 1:30pm-3:00pm at The Lawrenceville School for all campers.
  • Check-Out: Camp graduation will be at The Lawrenceville School on Thursday. Parents are encouraged to attend! Check-out will occur from 12:30pm-2:00pm directly proceeding the Award ceremony.
  • Meals: Day Campers will be provided lunch.
  • Program: The All Abilities program is designed to improve the fundamental skills needed for golf including putting, chipping, bunker play, and full-swing. On the first day of camp, all participants will be evaluated by the instructors and placed into groups based on age and ability level in various individual, small group and full group settings.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning instruction and afternoon course play.
  • Meals: Campers will be provided lunch.
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
  • Camper Amenity Package: Campers will receive an amenity package including a Nike hat, drawstring bag, SRIXON golf balls, camp workbook, and graduation certificate.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:8 staff-to-camper ratio.
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own golf clubs, glove, golf balls, and tees.
  • Facility: The Lawrenceville School
  • Medical Protocol: Camp will have on-site staff to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
  • Housing:
    • Dorm: TBD
    • Campers Per Room: Campers will be housed in double rooms.
    • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
    • Linens: Linens are NOT provided. Bed size is Twin XL. Campers will need to bring their own linens.
    • Air Conditioning: Yes.
    • Key Deposit: Please bring a check for $85 for room key deposit made payable to “US Sports Camps”. Check will be returned after the key card is turned in on the last day of camp. Meal Cards do not need to be returned following camp. However, if the card is lost during camp there is a $5 replacement fee.
    • Spending Money: We recommend that each overnight camper bring $60-75 per week of spending money to cover incidentals like snacks, souvenirs and other activities. Please bring cash in a marked envelope for your child.

*Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is only provided during camp. All campers will be transported to Springfield Golf Center for instruction and course play. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Facility

The Lawrenceville School

The Lawrenceville Golf Course is conveniently located on campus, directly across the street from the dorms. This superb nine hole, par 35 scenic golf course also features a spacious driving range, unique short game area, putting green and chipping green. Campers play the course each afternoon while receiving instruction on course management, shot and club selection, strategy, rules and etiquette and supervision. *Campers are housed on campus in the dorms at the prestigious Lawrenceville School.

  • Nike Golf Camp at The Lawrenceville School takes place at The Lawrenceville School, a boarding school campus located at 2500 Main Street, Route 206 N., Lawrence Township, New Jersey 08648. Led by camp director Dan Wesley.
