Reviews & Testimonials

  • Incredible!

My son Brennan was hesitant to fly from Florida to Virginia and spread his wings. There were a few bumps in the road like lost luggage etc but Coach Pilat himself stepped up and took my son under his wing, got him settled in camp despite the setbacks of travel. His coaching staff was amazingly helpful, encouraging, kind, knowledgeable plus fun and got down to business of teaching my son some unforgettable techniques to greatly improve his game and confidence. Brennan greatly enjoyed the college dorm experience and met knew friends and fellow goalies from across the US. He broke out of his shell and wants to attend the Vero Beach Camp as well as the 2019 Roanoke College camp. Coach Pilat and his staff not only taught my son new Goalie skills but also taught him life skills. They treated him like family and a single mom who sent her son 4 states away to camp for the first time couldn't been any more grateful. Thank YOU Coach Pilat and staff!

  • For my child, the highlights were the use of the locker room, stadium field, and college cafeteria (he felt like a big deal). For me, it was the lessons outside of lacrosse - grit, sportsmanship, respect, etc. and how much my kid wanted to please the coaching staff.

  • I noticed how friendly the staff and coaches were and respectful that they are still kids and not teenagers who have been playing for many years. They were not harsh or rude in their instruction but encouraging! My kid wanted a chance to try a different position and the coach listened to my 9 year old and let him play in a different spot and that gave him confidence going forward with his club team.

It was very pleasure hearing my son's recap of the day each day of camp. The skill building drills were easily explained and fun to execute. As a parent, I liked the end of day recaps talks with all the campers. GREAT JOB to all leaders!

  • this is an A++ camp

My son felt that the camp gave him the necessary instruction to fine tune his strong suits and gave him confidence and pointers to improve his weaknesses. He aspires to play lacrosse in college so he really enjoyed learning not only from Coach Pilat and but current college goalies from Roanoke College. He felt this gave him the time tested knowledge but also current trends of goalies in the game today. He thought it was cool that all the coaches had a genuine desire to make him a better goalie without pressure or criticism yet they pushed him in a positive manner... this is an A++ camp.

  • Fantastic experience, we will definitely do it again!

He loved interacting with the coaches and meeting other Goalies. He really enjoyed the one on one lesson and the goalie games. The card from the one on one was detailed and constructive while still being really positive. The drills that were given to him to keep improving his skills were very solid and seemed curated just for him. He said that no one ever seemed too busy for a smile or a hello. He also met some kids there that exemplified the best of the best behaviors, and when someone was not being a great teammate they were kept in check by either coaches or by other campers. Fantastic experience, we will definitely do it again!

  • Staff were very energetic and upbeat

The camp was well organized and staff very energetic and upbeat. Based on my son's comments, the paid private 30 minute lesson was the most helpful and the only session that was improved his skills because was individualized. I am wondering if there is more individualized opportunities. Overall, he had a blast meeting new friends and the campus was beautiful but would have appreciated a little more individualized coaching.

This camp was the highlight of my summer! I loved living in the dorms, meeting other lax goalies, and working with the coaches. This camp has taught me so much about being a goalie that I would have not learned with my team. My only complaint would be that camp was not long enough!

This was one of the greatest decision we have made for our sons skill level as a goalie. The attention the coaches gave each camper was unbeatable. If your son is a goalie or wants to become one, I would recommend this camp to you, for a player of any skill level.

  • Great experience!

Just a quick note to let you know how much my son enjoyed your camp this week at Roanoke College. Having played lacrosse for less than a year, he learned a great deal and made some friends as well. Again, thanks for giving him a great experience and deepening his love for this sport!

  • Training was superb!

My son has gone to lacrosse camps at big name Division I Universities and top pro player camps over the years. He had nothing but great things to say about your Goalie School. He told us that the training was superb and he improved more in those few days than at all the other camps.
