SHOWCASE YOUR TALENT THIS FEBRUARY AT THE MEN'S LACROSSE PROSPECT DAY!

Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Bill Pilat, is offering prospects an on-campus recruiting opportunity to experience a day of lacrosse with the staff! The one day camp is hosted at the beautiful Roanoke College campus located in Salem, a suburban independent city adjacent to Roanoke, Virginia.

    Bill Pilat

    Camp Director

    Bill Pilat is one of the most accomplished and respected figures in collegiate lacrosse and brings decades of leadership, teaching, and player development to US Sports Camps. Recently retired, Pilat spent 37 seasons as the head coach of the Roanoke College men’s lacrosse program, where he established one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division III history.

    Camp Director

    Over his career, Coach Pilat recorded more than 400 career wins and posted an ODAC winning percentage of over 80%, the best in conference history. He ranks sixth all-time in career wins among all men’s lacrosse coaches across all levels. Under his guidance, Roanoke captured multiple ODAC Championships and earned numerous NCAA Tournament appearances, consistently competing on the national stage.

    In recognition of his lifetime contributions to the sport, Pilat was awarded the Howdy Myers Man of the Year Award by USILA in November 2025, one of the highest honors in collegiate lacrosse.

    Pilat’s impact extends beyond team success. A former three-time All-American goalie at Roanoke, he is widely regarded as one of the top goalie minds in the country. He has coached and mentored numerous All-Americans and is the founder of the Bill Pilat Goalie School, nationally recognized as one of the premier training experiences for lacrosse goalies.

    A leader within the lacrosse community, Pilat has served as president of both the ODAC Coaches Association and the NCAA Division III Coaches Association, and has been deeply involved with USILA and national lacrosse initiatives.

    Coach Pilat’s passion for teaching, attention to fundamentals, and commitment to player growth make him an outstanding camp director and mentor for athletes of all levels.

2025 OVERVIEW
  • Dates: February 23
  • Age Group: 13-18
  • Gender: Boys
  • Camp Type: Day
  • Schedule: 9:00am-3:00pm, Sunday
  • Check-In: Check-in takes place between 8:30am-9:00am at Kerr Stadium
  • Check-out: Check-out takes place each day at 3pm at the field.
  • Meals: Lunch is NOT provided. Campers have the option to leave and go get lunch nearby. Lunch break is 11:30am-1:00pm. There are many restaurants on Main Street - a 5-minute drive. All campers should bring a filled water bottle.
  • Program: Head Men's Lacrosse Coach, Bill Pilat, is offering prospects an on-campus recruiting opportunity to experience a day of lacrosse with the staff! The Roanoke College Men's Lacrosse Prospect Day is open to boys ages 13-18 in the Class of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028.

CAMP CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Sunday, February 23rd

  • Check in: 8:30-9:00am at Kerr Stadium.
  • Check out: 3:00pm; Departure is 3:00 PM and campers can be picked up at the field.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
  • Reversible Jersey & Prizes: Campers will receive a Nike Lacrosse Reversible Jersey and prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your helmet, mouthpiece, cleats, lacrosse stick, gloves, and pads.
  • Facility: Athletic Fields
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
