    Camp Director

Anthony Newman is a University of Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame inductee who has deep roots in the Portland community. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest high school football players in Oregon history out of Beaverton High School having earned all-Metro league running back his Junior year and Offensive Player of the Year and Kodak first team All-American his Senior year.

Anthony starred at the University of Oregon, playing a leading role in transforming the Ducks into title contenders and laying the foundation for the powerhouse program that now exists in Eugene. Anthony finished his senior year earning first team All-Pac 10 and All-American honors. Anthony was inducted into the University of Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.

After being drafted in the second round of the 1988 draft, Anthony went on to play 12 stellar seasons as an NFL defensive back with the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders. Anthony offered another type of “giving” to any receiver who set foot on his real estate!

Giving – That’s the one word that best describes Anthony Newman. While many professional athletes are defined by what they accomplish on the field, Anthony chose to distinguish himself off the field as well. Few professional athletes have dedicated as much time to community service as Mr. Newman.

Anthony now serves as a Football Analyst for the Talkin’ Ducks show on NBC Sports Northwest. He’s also a defensive assistant at Central Catholic High School in Portland where his team won back-to-back state football championships in 2013 and 2014.
