US Sports Camps & Nike Baseball Camps Is Thrilled To Host Camp In Louisiana At Southern University
Baseball players in the Bayou State can now enjoy an unforgettable baseball camp experience as Nike Baseball Camps brings camp to Southern University.
San Rafael, CA February 4, 2014 – Working with the Southern University Head Baseball Coach, Roger Cador, Nike Baseball Camps will offer camp for baseball players of all abilities this summer hosting a general skills camp, June 9-12 and a prospect camp for high school players, June 16-19.
“We are excited to bring a Nike Baseball Camp to Southern University.” states Mike de Surville, Vice President of US Sports Camps. “We have had many requests for a camp in Louisiana, so to be able to provide this at a school with a great baseball program has us confident it will be a popular location.”
Nike Baseball Camp Director, Roger Cador enters his 21st season at the helm of the Southern University baseball program. He took over the reign "on the Bluff "in 1985 and has compiled a 645-334-1 record. His accomplishments include 13 Southwestern Athletic Conference Coach of the Year awards, 13 conference championships, four NCAA tournament appearances and three NCAA play-in tournament appearances. Cador holds the distinction of being the first coach of a historically black university to win a game in the NCAA tournament. His 1987 Jaguars upset then no. 2 ranked Cal-State Fullerton, 1-0 in South Region play.
Coach Cador is looking forward to his camp this summer and says, “I receive a tremendous amount of satisfaction in helping a young man grow from adolescence to manhood and accomplish his goals.”
Nike Baseball Camps provide focused, intensive training that is essential to improvement for all skill levels. Every facet of the game is covered with an emphasis on fundamentals to help players become valuable team members. At each location, campers are broken into groups with other players of similar age, abilities and goals. Each camp director does their best to advance players to the next level, keeping in consideration each camper’s experience and desire to improve.
