Congrats to the Lake City Middle School Running Team and some of our past Smoky Mountain Runners!

The Lake City Middle School girls 4 x 800m relay team placed 1st at  the fl runners Florida Middle School State Track Meet on Saturday May 7th, 2011.   They finished one second off the state record for the event.  Relay team member are:  Bernita Brown (6th grader coming to camp this summer), Samantha Ziegaus, Nicole Morse, Emma Tucker (all Smoky Mountain Running Camp campers, and coming back this summer).  Their time was 10:11.77.  Emma Tucker placed 3rd at the state meet in the 800m with a time of 2:20.5, and Nicole Morse also placed 3rd at state in the 1500m in 5:03.97.  Bernita, Samantha, Nicole, and Emma all will be returning to Smokey Mountain Running Camp this summer!  Because of FHSAA rules, they could not compete under LCMS, but had to run with Sunny Runners of NE Florida.
