THE HOKIES MOVE ON WITH NIKE SOCCER CAMPS DIRECTOR, MIKE BRIZENDINE
Nike Soccer Camps Director, Mike Brizendine, Head Coach of the Virginia Tech University Men’s Soccer Team, has steered the Hokies into the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Coach Brizendine is in his 10th season at the helm of the Hokies and has been directing Nike Soccer Camps since 2013.
The Hokies kicked off the tournament seeded 12th and played against University of North Carolina, Charlotte. A slow start to the game kept the score knotted 0-0 at the half but Virginia Tech pulled away in the 53rd minute behind a goal from Sophomore Kristo Strickler. The Hokie’s goalkeeper secured his fifth clean sheet of the season and kept the Charlotte 49ers scoreless.
“Nike Soccer Camps is excited to watch Coach Brizendine and his team continue their success. Coach Brizendine has established himself as one of the nation’s top coaches and we are lucky to have him direct camps in multiple locations for us,” says Renee Chapman, Vice President of Nike Soccer Camps.
Tech advances to the Sweet Sixteen for the second time in three seasons. They face off against James Madison, who knocked out the number five ranked, UNC Chapel Hill, in the second round. The game kicks off at 4 PM EST on Sunday, November 25th. The Hokies have enjoyed an 11-6-3 record this season.
