PSAC Softball Champs, Lock Haven University Announce 2020 Camp Dates
Nike Softball Camps, a division of US Sports Camps, the largest provider of sports camps in the world, has released its 2020 Lock Haven camp dates. The Nike Softball Camp at Lock Haven University returns for its sixth year this summer.
2019 was a banner year for the Lock Haven University softball team. The Bald Eagles went 32-19-1 on the year and won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament championship earning them a trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
Camp is highlighted by its stellar coaching staff led by Head Coach Kelly Shannon and assistant coach Danielle Fraser, two veteran Nike Softball Camp directors in their sixth year. LHU have won more than 30 games in three of the past four years, compiling a record of 134-73-1 over that span. Coach Shannon was named the PSAC Central coach of the year in 2017 and 2018.
The four-day camp is open to players ages 10-14 from beginner to advanced looking to hone their skills with high-energy coaches in a fun and focused environment. The all skills program will cover fielding, hitting, base-running, and game scenarios through a combination of drills and games. Campers can choose to attend the extended day (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) or get the full college campus experience and attend as an overnight camper.
This camp has become a parent and camper favorite, parent Lindsay W. states “Sydney had a wonderful experience. She had fun, made new friends, and worked on improving her game. She raved about the coaching staff!” One overnight camper said, “"The NIKE camp was AMAZING! The camp far exceeded our expectations and I will recommend several of the conditioning drills to my Varsity coach so my High School team can benefit from them as well. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE!"
