Nike Softball Camps announces Summer Camp dates at Metro State University
Nike Softball Camps, a division of US Sports Camps, the largest provider of sports camps in the world, has released its 2020 Metro State camp dates. The Nike Softball Camp at Metropolitan State University of Denver returns for its seventh year this summer.
This sell out camp has been a huge hit amongst campers, having sold out for the last five consecutive years. One reason for the popularity is Annie Van Wetzinga and her excellent coaching staff. Coach Van Wetzinga, the 2015 Conference Coach of the Year, is entering her seventh season as the Head Coach for the Roadrunners and has enjoyed great success since taking over the program. The Roadrunners have compiled over 30 wins in every season since she took over. Metro State has also won one RMAC Regular-season crown, two RMAC Tournament Championships, and has been in the NCAA Tournament three times during Van Wetzinga’s tenure.
When asked about the camp, parent Amy M. stated, “It was amazing. Lots of coaches, good drills, quick moving. Something you can come back to year after year.” Another parent went on to say, “We have been going to the camp for four years now and it has always helped. We love the college girls. As a parent, I liked the coaches talk on academics along with being a superior athlete.”
