Nike Softball Camps to Send Teams to Australia and the Netherlands in 2019
Nike Softball Camps and Legacy Sports Group have teamed up to send four teams on international tours in 2019, after a massively successful tour last summer. Two softball teams will be going to Australia and two teams are going to be headed to the Netherlands. Both tours will train and compete against local youth softball teams. These trips are fun for the whole family with parents and siblings encouraged to accompany the players.
The Australia tour will be led by Veteran Nike Softball Camps Director Rob Diggle. Coach Diggle was a big part of last summer’s tour and will lead a 14U team and a combo 16U/18U team. This softball vacation will take athletes and their families on tours throughout Sydney city and harbor, the Taronga Kangaroo Zoo, and the world-famous Sydney Opera House. Athletes will also be headed to the beach between playing in games and practices. Parents are encouraged to come and join in the amazing experience this summer.
New for this year, Nike Softball Camps will also be sending a pair of teams to the Netherlands. Campers and their families will stay in a four-star hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. Leading the tour will be Coach Debbie Nelson, widely considered one of the top private teaching instructors in California. This cultural experience is an amazing opportunity for athletes to improve their game while exploring the historic city of Amsterdam. The three teams attending this tour will be a 12U, a 14U and a 16U/18U team.
Cheryl M., a parent who went on the 2018 tour to Australia, said of the trip, “My daughter said this was the trip of her life. Had a blast not only playing softball, but also doing tours, hanging with fellow players as well as meeting new friends. Very well organized. I am sure there was a lot of behind the scenes work, but to the players and parents, we didn't have to stress about anything. Paddy, John and Debbie made this trip a complete success.”
Each team will bring 14 athletes each with family encouraged to attend as well. Airfare is not included in camp tuition, but Legacy Sports Group will offer competitive rates from specific airports.
