The Nike Swim Camp returns to Southern Illinois University with new Head Coach Geoff Hanson
US Sports Camps and Nike Swim Camps are pleased to announce the return of it’s popular competitive swim camp to the Southern Illinois University this coming summer! Directed by Head Swim Coach, Geoff Hanson, this camp is designed to accommodate swimmers of all levels.
Geoff Hanson was named head coach for the swimming and diving program on May 22, 2019, taking over for 32-year coaching veteran Rick Walker. Hanson has 19 years of collegiate coaching experience, including the last three seasons as head coach at Division II Colorado Mesa (2017-19) and two years as head coach at Western State Colorado (2015-16). He was the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Coach of the Year on both the men's and women's sides in 2019 and has won the award five times in the last five seasons.
"Duringthe week campers will get great stroke technique instruction utilizing our state of the art underwater filming equipmentfor stroke analysis. Campers will also learn to maximize efficiency through theskills used by Olympic athletes and NCAA Champions." states Hanson. “The Nike Swim Camp combines elite-level stroke technique instruction with a fantastic summer camp experience! The camp will also include team building activities, mental training, race prep strategies, and nutrition education.”
