Hawks Volleyball Names Trevor Callarman Head Coach

Callarman is no stranger to the Hawks Volleyball team. Having served as assistant coach for the 2017 season, and then as interim head coach for summer of 2018, Callarman was the obvious choice to take over as head coach. 

"We are very happy that Trevor is taking the reins of the volleyball program." Director of Athletics Keith Davidson said. "Over the summer, he has become the leader of this team, and we are confident he can continue to deliver the great results that our volleyball program has historically achieved."

While serving as interim coach for the 2017 season, Callarman helped guide the Hawks to a 27-9 record with a MEAC Northern Division title and appearance at the National Invitational Volleyball Championship.

"I'm fortunate to inherit a great program with a sustained culture." said Callarman. "I have developed a bond with the team. We've worked a lot to instill core values and live by them. We are focusing on who we are, how we push ourselves to the next level, and not settling."

This is the first head collegiate coaching job for Callarman, who was previously coaching and playing volleyball in Texas. While in Texas he served as head coach for the University of Texas men’s club team and an assistant coach for Texas State University.

He also competes annually in the USAV Open Championships and placed second at nationals in the men’s BB division.

Callarman will be back for his second year as director of the annual Nike Volleyball Camp at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.  After a successful summer in 2018, campers and parents are excited to see him back as director for summer 2019.
