Nike Pickleball Camps is excited to announce our new camp in Monterey, CA with Javier Vargas at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa.
This 3-day pickleball camp is geared towards players of all levels to address your specific needs, increase your knowledge and excitement of the game and to help you improve in a fun and friendly environment.

Javi, a Monterey native, excels in tennis and pickleball, both coaching and competing at high levels. He began at the Monterey Tennis Center and the Hyatt Regency, igniting his passion.

Richie, grew up in Monterey, co-owns and manages the Monterey Tennis Center with his brother Monty.

Coach Jim Somerville
Meet Jim Somerville, a graduate of the University of Hawaii with a degree in Travel Industry Management, renowned for his prowess in tennis and passion for pickleball. With an ATP singles ranking of 778 and doubles ranking of 445, Jim's journey includes being #1 Open singles player in Hawaii and the #2 18 and under singles player.

CAMP PROGRAM
Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced skill levels
Upon arrival all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the weekend.
Message from the coaching staff: "We have hosted the top pickleball professionals at our facility. Notably, Ben & Colin Johns, Lindsey & Riley Newman, Jessie Irvine, and Jack Munro. Taking their techniques and training regimens we are able to help build and grow our students as a player."
CAMP SCHEDULE
- Check-in: 5:00pm on Friday
- Check-out: 1:00pm on Sunday
- Camp Program: Friday 5:00pm-7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm, Sunday 9:00am-1:00pm
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Welcome Package: All campers receive a Pickleball Camps t-shirt and prizes
- Instruction: 10+ hours of court time including instruction and match play
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
- Equipment Needed: All campers must bring a pickleball paddle, athletic shoes and a water bottle
- Facility: Monterey Tennis Center's outdoor pickleball courts
OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS
These are Day Camps and only run during the hours listed above. The camp tuition DOES NOT include housing. Campers are required to provide their own overnight accommodations.

- Athletic, on-court pickleball clothing
- Pickleball Paddle(s)
- Comfortable court shoes (no running shoes)
- Sweatshirt/warm up jacket and pants
- Water bottle*
- Sunscreen**
- Snacks (optional)
- Signed Health & Release forms and waivers (forms completed online do not need to be printed and turned in at camp)
