Come improve your skills with Nike Soccer Camp at Thayer Sports Center in Braintree, MA! Campers focus on all aspects of the game including refining fundamental skills and positional work through challenging exercises and scrimmages.

A Step Ahead (ASA) Nike Soccer Camps are designed for a player looking to improve their game and soccer IQ. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, shooting, offense/defense, team play, and more. Instruction is available to boys and girls, playing at all levels, from beginner to advanced. Players are evaluated on the first day and placed in groups on age and ability. Improve your skills and meet new friends this summer at the Nike Soccer Camp at Thayer Sports Center!

    Chris Calden, Soccer Director for ASA, is a highly respected youth development coach known for elevating players’ skills, confidence, and soccer IQ. With more than a decade of experience shaping young athletes, Chris has built a reputation for creating competitive, supportive, and high‑energy training environments where players thrive.

    As the Assistant Varsity Boys’ Coach at Watertown High School from 2011–2021, Chris played a pivotal role in one of the region’s most successful high school programs, helping the team capture: - 5 Middlesex League Titles - 3 North Championships - 1 Eastern Conference Championship.

    A standout defender himself, Chris enjoyed a successful playing career at Watertown High School (2000–2004), earning Middlesex All‑Star honors, before competing at Fitchburg State University (2005–2009), where he earned All‑Defensive Second Team recognition early in his career.

    Combining strong technical foundations with a player‑centered approach, Chris is committed to developing well‑rounded athletes who understand the game, compete with confidence, and truly love playing.

  • Check-In & Out Location: Thayer Sports Center
  • Meals: Lunch is NOT included. Please send your camper with a packed lunch

*Check-in starts 15 minutes before camp start time

Camp award show will be held 30 minutes before check out on the last day of camp. Parents are welcome to attend

Nike Soccer Camps provide a fun and challenging environment where players are grouped by age and ability to maximize development. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, campers sharpen their technical skills through focused training, small-sided games, and dynamic drills, building confidence and a passion for the game along the way.

MASSACHUSETTS HEALTH FORMS

*All Massachusetts camps must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health. Campers can complete the MA specific health forms after adding their campers under their profile in the customer portal.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from the ASA coaching staff

  • Day campers: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

  • Camp T-shirt: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps t-shirt

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.

  • Facility: Thayer Sports Center

  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. US Sports Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

  • Packed lunch and snacks
  • Small gym bag/backpack

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
