Reviews & Testimonials

  • Loved camp

Although my son did not know anyone going to the camp, he made friends immediately and really enjoyed his week at camp. He loved the soccer lessons and liked making new friends. The coaches were top notch and seemed to really enjoy teaching the kids.

  • Academy paid off

I go to the University of Illinois in Champaign and I have played as the starting keeper for the last 2 years (thanks to my summers at the soccer academy!) I have just been offered a Division 1 Varsity Soccer scholarship at U of I so I will be rostered with them starting this fall. I owe a lot of where I am today to the time i spent with you as my coaches.

  • Amazing Time

  • This was Sebastian's 2nd year and he would like to go back next summer!

August 17, 2018: Independence, confidence, endurance! Sebastian had a lot of fun at camp. He learned more about playing in the middle of the field and some defense strategies. Overall, camp has been a great experience! This was Sebastian's 2nd year and he would like to go back next summer! Thank you!!!

  • Camp was really fun

July 27, 2018: My highlights were the games, futsol, swimming ,and playing in the lounge with friends. I also learned that stretching is really important before exercising.

    • 5/5.
  • Fun training and great meals

August 3, 2021: It was really fun to be able to be on my own without my parents and hang out with the other boys in the camp. The soccer training was fun and the meals were great. The one v ones were great and helped me to think fast.

    • 5/5.
  • Positive Experience

August 20, 2019: Everyone was very positive and friendly.

    • 4/5.
  • I will definitely be coming next year

August 2, 2021: I attended the camp and I thought it was very exciting and fun and I will definitely be coming next year the camp is very safe and organized and I'm sure your kid will have a blast! The dorms are very clean and quite spacious too! If you're looking for a fun, good soccer training, great food(lots of varieties), and good coaches this is the place for you.

  • Should focus more on nutrition

I think a sports camp should have a clear vision about nutrition. There was too much sugary drinks and sodas. A camp like this has an opportunity to demonstrate sporting as a lifestyle ... not just a game. What does it take to be an athlete and what does that mean. I saw a lot of great sportsmanship which I think is great.

    • 3/5.
  • Better medical personnel

I would like to see a nurse or dr on staff. My daughter hurt her wrist the first day and she relayed to me that a dr looked at it and said sprained but she hurt it again the next day and they told her it was just still sprained. When I picked her up a few days later (overnight camper) I took her straight to the dr as she said it was still sore and it was broken. Come to find out the 'dr' who looked at was a parent not a staff member. Other than this I think she had a great experience.

    • 3/5.
  • Gain confidence on and off the field

My son was saying tonight that the camp was a good all around experience. Tim explained to him what he needed to work on and was very positive which gave him the confidence he needed. Tim’s name comes up often when talking about soccer and college. He left a big impression on my son and it shows in his games this year with the high school soccer team. His confidence level is much higher along with his play. Looking forward to seeing next year’s camp schedule.

    • 5/5.
  • Safe and Fun

The safety was my number one concern, with a young overnight camper. They exceeded my expectations there. My son learned a lot and had a lot of fun!

    • 4/5.
  • He really grew as a player

July 26, 2018: My son learned about work ethic and ball skills while continuing to have fun! He really grew as a player and it helped him to be around other players with passion. He improved all aspects of his game from shooting to control.

    • 5/5.
  • Happy Camper

I have attended the camp for six years now and have always found it to be a place where I improve my soccer skills along with it being a bonding experience with both teammates and new friends. It's an amazing experience that I look forward to every summer!

    • 5/5.
  • Exceeded expectations

My son and I continue to talk about the fantastic experience we had during the program. My son is using many tools he acquired at the camp in his games now. The level of organization and coaching met and exceeded our expectations, and the facilities were great!

    • 5/5.
  • Great coaches

I want to thank you and all the coaches that worked so hard with my son. He had so much fun and it was a fantastic opportunity for him to become more independent and more responsible. His passion is soccer and he wants to go back next year. Thank you!

    • 5/5.
  • Highly Recommended

I would highly recommend this camp to others of any skill level. After spending the week with this organization I feel more confident in my skills and abilities. This camp allowed me to grow and test my skills against older kids in the advanced session versus the beginner due to my age.

    • 5/5.
  • Wouldn't stop raving

August 4, 2021: He wouldn’t stop raving about it. He loved the staff, coach Hormoz, the food, the activities and the facilities. It was his second sleepaway camp of the summer and this one blew the other one away. Thank you!

    • 5/5.
  • Meeting new people

July 27, 2019: Davida loved staying in the dorm rooms and having fun with the other campers her age. She said the best part of the camp for her were the training sessions that focused on goalkeeping skills, however she said everything was valuable to her and she enjoyed all of it.

    • 5/5.
  • The time of her life

August 3, 2021: This was Davida's fourth year attending the Nike Soccer Camp at the Cate School. Every year she has the time of her life, and she comes home a better soccer player.

    • 5/5.
  • Can not wait to return!

This summer was my daughter's first year with your camp and she loved it. We really noticed an increased level in her playing. My husband, who coaches her GU10 team is very impressed with her skills. She can not wait to return next summer and wants to do 2 sessions!

    • 5/5.
  • Loved every part

August 2, 2021: Reagan loved every part of camp but if she has to pick a highlight, it would be the scrimmages and her coaches.

    • 5/5.
  • A lot of fun!

My daughter had a lot of fun at camp. She really felt like she had good trainers to help her. She was very comfortable.

    • 5/5.
  • Wonderful

This was my son's first time to be an overnight camper and he loved it! The bonding aspect was great. These are lifelong friends he's making year over year. Keep location at the beautiful Cate School. And keep the current leadership. Hormoz does a great job and has the kids' interests at heart. Wonderful experience.

    • 5/5.
  • Really nice facilities

August 3, 2021: Jacob enjoyed getting to know different kids and learning new moves. The facilities were really nice and the food was very good. Goalie coach was very nice and helpful.

    • 5/5.
  • Needs better meal plans

The afternoon/evening sessions and dinner schedule. The dinner is too early, and eating dinner before playing the evening soccer doesn't always feel so good. And, the snack in the evening is not much or very healthy. Maybe camp can have a light snack in the late afternoon, before the evening session (small sandwich, yogurt, granola bar, etc fruit and drink) and then dinner after the evening session.

    • 3/5.
  • Loved this camp!

August 2, 2021: She felt the instructors were incredibly knowledgeable. She loved the setting of Cates school. Overall she simply “loved this camp”! Thank you!

    • 5/5.
  • Really Great!

The camp was really great! I'd recommend it to anyone, even if you've never played before. It's a great learning experience. You can make new friends very easily!

    • 5/5.
  • Wonderful Experience!

The Soccer Academy is a wonderful experience for true lovers of the game. There are players from all over the world who end up here and their common love for the game is a real bonding experience. Returning year after year, the campers establish potential lifelong friendships. And the level of coaching and intensity of play can't be beat. Hormoz and Wes run a great camp. You (and your player) won't be disappointed.

    • 4/5.
  • Great Camp

August 1, 2018: My son had fun and made a lot of new friends. This is a great camp and he learned to play better defense.

My daughter had a lot of fun at camp. She really felt like she had good trainers to help her. She was very comfortable.

  • Wonderful

This was my son's first time to be an overnight camper and he loved it! The bonding aspect was great. These are lifelong friends he's making year over year. Keep location at the beautiful Cate School. And keep the current leadership. Hormoz does a great job and has the kids' interests at heart. Wonderful experience.

  • July 31, 2023: My daughter loved her camp counselor Sofia. For her first sleep away and I loved that for 12 and up you had to be club of competive so that she was challenged all week. The director was so personable. She also liked her coach - she was in the 12 year old group
