at Nike Soccer Camps

Join us for an exciting week at Nike Soccer Camp in Costa Mesa, CA, conveniently serving families across Orange County, including Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and surrounding communities. Led by Camp Director Gemar Lezeau, this camp delivers a high-quality youth soccer experience designed to help players of all levels build confidence, sharpen ability, and take the next step in their development.

Our curriculum blends proven fundamentals with modern coaching methods to enhance technical skills, ball mastery, decision-making, and overall soccer IQ. Players train in a fun, structured, and supportive environment where they are challenged to compete, improve, and most importantly, enjoy the game.

This summer, the camp will be held at the excellent soccer facilities at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Previously hosted at Vanguard University, the program continues its strong tradition in a new, upgraded location that offers a central and convenient setting for families throughout the region.

    MLS Next & Collegiate Soccer Coach

    Gemar Lezeau is a highly experienced soccer professional with a strong background in coaching, technical program development, and club management. As the Assistant Club Director & Assistant Technical Director at Total Futbol Academy - Orange County, he has played a key role in player development, team-building, and program implementation for youth and elite-level teams. His expertise spans from designing technical curriculums to overseeing college recruitment and sports science initiatives.

    MLS Next & Collegiate Soccer Coach

    Previously, as Club Director & Chairman of the Board at Trojan FC, he successfully led the club’s strategic growth, increasing player enrollment by 900% while implementing a competitive playing philosophy. His tenure at UC Irvine (NCAA D1) as Director of Soccer Operations further showcased his leadership in recruitment, budgeting, and analytics, contributing to a championship-winning season.

    In addition to his coaching and leadership roles, Gemar is also a Professional U.S. Soccer Referee, bringing a deep understanding of the game from multiple perspectives. With experience officiating at high levels, he applies his knowledge of the laws of the game to enhance player development and coaching strategies.

    With coaching experience within the NY Red Bulls Academy and a UEFA C License, he brings a data-driven and player-centered approach to the game. A former collegiate athlete at St. Joseph’s College, he is also trilingual (English, Haitian Creole, French) and holds a Master’s in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco. Passionate about player development, global recruitment, and club growth, he continues to shape the future of soccer at all levels.

    With more than 20 years of youth soccer coaching experience, Coach Brent Whitfield brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for player development to the field. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton and a USSF National “B” Coaching License.

    Throughout his coaching career, Coach Brent has worked at multiple levels of the game. He has served as a Youth Director of Coaching for local clubs, coached at both the high school and collegiate levels, and led teams in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL). His commitment to identifying and developing talent has also led him to work with Cal South Olympic Development Program (ODP) as both a scout and coach, as well as with the U.S. Soccer National Scout Team and Player Development Pool.

    As a player, Brent Whitfield competed at the collegiate level for Cal State Fullerton before continuing his career professionally with the Seattle Sounders and Chivas USA.

    Coach Brent Whitfield is passionate about helping young players improve their technical ability, soccer IQ, and love for the game, creating a positive and challenging learning environment for athletes of all levels.

  • Half-Day Hours: 9:00am - 12:00pm*

  • Full-Day Hours: 9:00am - 3:00pm* (Last day concludes at 12pm)

  • Check-in & out Locations: at the Orange Coast College
  • Meals: Lunch is NOT provided

*Check-in starts 15 minutes before camp start time

WHO IS THIS CAMP FOR

This camp is ideal for players of all skill levels who want to improve in a structured, professional, and positive environment. Whether your child is new to the game or already competing at a high level, our training is designed to meet players where they are and help them grow in confidence, skill, and understanding of the game.

What makes this camp unique is the combination of academy-level coaching, including staff with professional playing and coaching experience, and a curriculum built around real game situations. Players work on ball mastery, 1v1 play, finishing, and decision-making, while also learning important habits like scanning and composure under pressure.

Beyond the field, we emphasize character development through daily themes and “power words” that encourage confidence, accountability, and teamwork. With occasional appearances from professional players and a fun, engaging atmosphere, this camp provides a well-rounded experience that helps players develop both on and off the field.

SKILL LEVEL & AGE GROUPS

This camp provides a fun and challenging environment where players are grouped by age and ability to maximize development. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, campers sharpen their technical skills through focused training, small-sided games, and dynamic drills, building confidence and a passion for the game along the way.

6–10 Years Old | Juniors Academy
Our Juniors Academy focuses on building a love for the game in a fun, energetic, and supportive environment. Players will develop fundamental technical skills—dribbling, passing, shooting, and coordination—through engaging games and small-sided activities designed to maximize touches on the ball while improving confidence and creativity.

11–14 Years Old | Premier Academy
The Premier Academy is designed for developing players who want to sharpen their technical foundation and game understanding. Sessions emphasize ball mastery, combination play, attacking and defending principles, and decision-making in game-realistic situations, helping players transition from basic skills to more advanced tactical awareness.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from the Nike Soccer Camp coaching staff

  • Day campers: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a packed lunch.

  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

  • Camp T-shirt: All campers receive a Nike Soccer Camps t-shirt

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper-to-coach ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.

  • Facility: Orange Coast College

  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
