  • Loved it all

Parker loved it all. I’d get a play-by-play of the day on the way home every day.
  • Thrilled to learn new skills

Having never played soccer before, she was thrilled to learn the skills and made goals!
  • Learn while having fun

Garson learned a lot this week in a friendly environment. The coaches made him very comfortable and he was able to learn while having fun. It was a great experience all around.
  • Absolutely wonderful time

Maxi had an absolutely wonderful time at the Nike Vogelsinger Bedford Camp!!! He came home excited every day about soccer and really enjoyed interacting with the other players and coaches, especially with Coach Derek. The camp directors were great about communication, so we were fully prepared to pick up on the day when the kids had to come home early because of bad weather. I wish there were more Nike Vogelsinger camps in our area, so the kids could go more often! We will certainly hope to send the kids again next year. MANY THANKS!!!
  • Only positive things to say about the coaches

My daughter signed up for camp alone- none of her friends were there, so she was concerned about what that would be like. It was such a relief for her to see Lee Moyce at check-in, and even more when he remembered her from youth soccer a number of years ago. It really put her at ease. She was only one of two 16 year-old girls, and she chose to play with the boys. This ended up being a very positive thing for her. She had only positive things to say about the coaches. The last day of camp, it rained, so they did indoor games and drills, and the one piece of feedback I can offer is that she had so much fun that day and really got to know the other kids, so when she came home that day, the first thing she said was, I wish we had done some of those games on the first day. It really helped me learn everyone's name and I actually got to know them.

  • My child loves soccer but was very nervous as this was her first soccer camp experience. Even though we registered for the full day, the staff and director were extremely supportive of her and very encouraging each day to both of us when I picked her up (early). Everyone made sure she felt very comfortable so we made it back ever day ready to do more and keep at it. She even won an award at the end of the week! Amazing !

  • Liked the coaches

Finn is a longtime Volgesinger camper. Being 14, this was the year he was going to do the overnight academy. I fully understand the pandemic situation, but his expectations were at a different level, not your fault. We are thrilled you tried to make the best you could of it. He enjoyed the camp, wished he had more game situations and an advanced group for tactical GK training. He mentioned too many kids in the GK group at too many different levels. He was happy to be on the field though. And liked the coaches.
  • Games and skills

He liked the games that they played to help with skills.
  • Making new friends

Match play, making new friends an watching some of the game with teammates.

  • Good camp

It was fun. There seemed to be too many kids enrolled in the week for the facilities to accommodate. There were 9 on 9 scrimmages on fields that were smaller than 7 on 7 fields leading to a crowded field and a poor scrimmage experience. Outside of that, it was a good camp.

The Edge Sports Center At Bedford

With an annual attendance of over 575,000 athletes and family members, the Edge Sports Center has become the premier hub as a North West Boston recreational facility. The athletic facility hosts over 260,000 youth athletes and over 85,000 adult athletes each year.

  1. The Edge Sports Center facility is a predominantly outdoor camp, on a field-turf. In the event of inclement weather (heavy and persistent rain, thunder & lightning (or more severe), and oppressive heat), we have access to the indoor venue on site. However, there are no indoor soccer fields. Space is limited, as it is a multi-use facility. Our staff are experienced and creative in utilizing this space to the maximum. It may lead to adaptations to the schedule and type of activities undertaken. However, depending on the time, type of weather interruption and duration, the camp director may delay the start to or shorten a camp day.
