    Camp Director - Assistant Coach

    Nicole Bowman joined the Stony Brook softball staff as an assistant coach in July of 2024. The 2025 season will be her first on staff at Stony Brook.

    Bowman comes to Long Island after a two-year coaching stint at Appalachian State. She joined the Mountaineers’ staff for the 2023 season as a volunteer assistant before being elevated to a full-time assistant coach for the 2024 season. Bowman worked primarily with App State’s outfield and hitters, while assisting with in-game and practice management and video analysis. Additionally, Bowman was tasked with managing gear and apparel, alumni communication, social media management and camp coordination.

    A former student-athlete, Bowman played three seasons at Rutgers before finishing her playing career at UNC Charlotte. Bowman appeared in 145 games, starting in 140, during her three seasons as a Scarlet Knight. She posted a career .273 batting average with Rutgers, with 111 hits, 14 home runs and 81 runs batted in. In her lone season with the 49ers, Bowman started in 47 of her 49 games played, posting a .321 batting average with 42 hits. For her efforts, she was selected to the Conference USA Second Team.

    Bowman is a native of Downers Grove, Illinois. She played for the Downers Grove South High School Mustangs and was part of three Western Suburban Gold Conference championships and earned All-Conference and All-Area Honorable Mention distinction.

    Sabrina Kuchta enters her third season as an assistant coach for the Stony Brook softball program in 2025. She joined the Stony Brook softball coaching staff prior to the 2023 season after spending the past six years as a head coach in the Premier Girls Fastpitch organization.

    In her two seasons with the program, the Seawolves have totaled 64 wins and earned berths in the CAA Championship in its first two seasons as a member of the conference. Kuchta works primarily with the pitching staff, helping the team post an earned run average under four in her first two seasons with the program.

    Kuchta has held different coaching roles at the club level. Since 2014, she has gained experience as an assistant head coach and a solo head coach of different club teams. She has coached over 50 athletes who committed to play softball at the college level.

    Kuchta had a standout five-year softball career as a catcher at DePaul University from 2015-19. She was named to the 2015 All-BIG EAST Second Team as a true freshman. She had several career-defining moments, including recording a hit and two runs batted in to secure a BIG East Championship win over St. John’s as a junior in 2017. That sparked a streak of Kuchta and the Blue Demons winning three-straight BIG EAST Championships from 2017 to 2019.

    Kuchta helped DePaul win three BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles and appear in three NCAA Tournaments during her career. She was a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team during all five years of her career.

    The Darien, Illinois, native earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, along with her master’s degree in Marketing from DePaul.

Camp Details

Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

CAMP INFORMATION

  • Dates: June 22-25, 2026 | August 3-6, 2026
  • Age Group: 7-14
  • Camp Type: Half-Day (Ages 7-10), Day (Ages 7-14)
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack to camp each day.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Daily Softball Instruction
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
  • Nike Softball Camp T-Shirt and other items

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. Please note that US Sports Camps does NOT provide equipment and is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
