Nike Junior Golf Camps Tips: Masters Pool Advice

Golf Tip Masters Pool

The Masters – an April tradition symbolizing the beginning of Spring is set for a change of pace, now starting November 12. While the scenery and temperatures may be different, the caliber of players and competition remains the same. But with so many of the world’s best competing at top form, it is more difficult than ever to predict the winner. Here are a few players to think about for your Masters Pool –

Bryson DeChambeau

Currently ranked no. 6 in the World, DeChambeau is coming off a fantastic 2020 season in which he broke though for his first career Major at the U.S. Open at Winged Foot. As an amateur, he became the fifth golfer in history to win the NCAA Division 1 Championship and U.S. Amateur in the same year. Additionally, he was the low amateur at the Masters back in 2016. DeChambeau’s strength alone takes him a step above the competition, stating that he will likely be hitting a wedge (or less) on at least seven holes. Strength aside, he realizes that, “Still, it comes down to putting and chipping out here.”

Justin Thomas

Known as one of the world’s best year after year, Justin Thomas currently sits as the no. 3 ranked pro. While his talent is unmatched, his lack of major titles cannot be ignored. In 2017, Thomas won the PGA Championship but would stand as his only major win in his still young career. Recent finishes are showing good signs for his Masters play, finishing tied for 8th at the U.S. Open, and tied for 3rd at the Tour Championship. Will this be the year he finally breaks through?

Brooks Koepka

An incredible last few years, Brooks Koepka has won four majors in his last 11 starts and tied for second place at the Masters in 2019. Sitting at world ranked no. 12, Koepka is looking to get back into the win column. A few injuries (knee, hip) have left him off the podium since July of last year, including the 2019 U.S. Open in which Koepka had to withdraw his name because of the recurring ailments. Brooks has said that he, “feels normal,” and is coming off of a top 5 finishing last weekend in Houston. Look out for Koepka who may be adding his 5th major at the 2020 Masters.
