Step Up to the Plate with a Confident Plan

Hitters should go up to the plate with a plan. They need an approach, typically hitters are looking for a pitch on one quadrant of the pate, but it can also be a half (middle-in or middle-out). Working tee drills at different locations is important, but nothing beats live and front toss. Once a player enters the box off of live-style pitching, it is sometimes hard for them to stay within an approach. You can create pressure in practice by telling players what their approach is, and if they stay within the approach, they get to continue hitting, if they do not, they are done with that round and the next hitter is up.
