Join us this summer at the Nike Baseball Camp in Chatsworth, California, hosted at the prestigious Sierra Canyon School! Whether you're just starting out or looking to fine-tune your skills, this camp is designed to offer players of all levels a chance to grow their baseball knowledge, enhance their abilities, and create lifelong memories.

Campers will have access to top-tier facilities, work with experienced coaches, and be part of a positive, supportive environment that fosters personal and athletic growth. The camp will focus on fundamental skills—from hitting to fielding, pitching to base running—all designed to elevate your game to the next level.

David Armendariz, an accomplished coach with a passion for developing young talent, will lead the camp. He is committed to helping every player improve their skills, make new friends, and have a blast doing it.

    David Armendariz brings a wealth of professional experience from his playing tenure with the Cleveland Indians, where he spent three impactful years honing his coaching skills and player development expertise.

    Collegiate Experience:

    Armendariz boasts an illustrious collegiate career, earning accolades such as being named to the Big West 2nd Team All-Conference, CCAA Player of the Year, CCAA First Team All-Conference, and West Region Player of the Year. His exceptional performance led to him being recognized as a Division II All-American. He pursued his education with a focus on Liberal Arts with a Sociology Concentration at Cal Poly, where he remains an esteemed alumnus.

    High School:

    As a standout athlete at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Armendariz contributed significantly to the team's success, culminating in the 2008 CIF Division 3 Championship and being part of the State Team of the Year. He garnered numerous individual honors, including being named First Team All-Mission League, Freshman Athlete of the Year, and Sophomore Athlete of the Year, further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier athlete.

    Coaching Experience:

    Armendariz has made a profound impact at nearly every level. He spent six years at Harvard-Westlake as an assistant coach and hitting coordinator. He coached seven years at Pacific Baseball Academy coaching the 13u and 14U Programs. He spent 1 year at Legacy Baseball Group as the 13U Program Head. He is now currently coaching at Sierra Canyon as the hitting coordinator and third base coach. His coaching expertise extends across various aspects of the game, and his leadership has been instrumental in shaping the skills and character of young athletes.

    Current Occupation:

    David Armendariz currently wears many hats at Sierra Canyon School as an Assistant Athletic Director, Hitting Coordinator for the Baseball Program, and the Middle School Physical Education Teacher. In these roles, he continues to impart his knowledge and passion for the game to the next generation of athletes, nurturing their talents both on and off the field. With his multifaceted experience and dedication to the sport, Coach David Armendariz remains a driving force in the baseball community.

Camp Details

Instruction will focus primarily on hitting. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

2026 SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION

  • Dates: June 22-25, 2026 | July 27-30, 2026
  • Age Group: 7-14
  • Camp Type: General Skills - Day Camp
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00AM-2:00PM
  • Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
  • Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a snack/lunch to camp each day.
  • Aftercare: This camp offers aftercare from 2:30pm-3:30pm following each day of camp. All 4 days can be purchased for an additional $100.00 fee. (Note: you cannot purchase aftercare for individual days).

  • Daily Baseball Instruction
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio

  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.

  • Facility: Outdoor Fields. Indoor facilities are available during inclement weather conditions.

Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items. Please note that US Sports Camps does NOT provide equipment and is NOT responsible for lost or stolen articles or money.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

TRAVEL

Nike Baseball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.

TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT

If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
