Nike Golf Camps

Get ready for an amazing experience in Madison, NJ at Drew University! Junior golfers, ages 10-18, are welcome to join for an unforgettable camp experience! Ryan Williams, Head Women’s Golf Coach at Central Michigan University, Liz Fernandez, Head Women’s Golf Coach at Emory University, and the dedicated coaching staff are thrilled to offer two weeks of a junior overnight golf camp at Drew University. Structured for players of all ability levels, camp participants enjoy this four day experience working to improve all facets of their golf game.

*Please note: This camp was formerly held at St. Elizabeth and is now hosted at Drew University.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

Nike Golf Camps at Drew University offers two sessions of a comprehensive three-night, four-day overnight (Session I: Sunday-Wednesday; Session II: Thursday-Sunday) experience for players of all skill levels. This camp includes instruction from Division I & III coaches, overnight stay, course play, and meals. Each day of camp consists of work in three primary areas: driving/full swing, short-game (chipping, pitching and bunker play) and putting. Players will stay on campus at Drew University and will travel to Fox Hollow Golf Club each day for daily instruction and course play.

FULL DAY CAMP

Local residents have the option of participating in the day camp which runs from 9:00am - 4:00pm, (Session I: Sunday-Wednesday; Session II: Thursday-Sunday). This option includes all golf instruction, lunch, and course play. Day campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the Fox Hollow Golf Club each day. Details on the first and last days of camp will be included in the Nike Camp information packet.

Please note: If you are unable to drop off/pick up your child each day at Fox Hollow Golf Club due to distance, we are more than happy to provide transportation to and from Drew University for $40 per day ($160 for the week).

IF PARENTS ARE LATE PICKING UP, THEY HAVE TO COME PICK UP ON CAMPUS.

    Ryan Williams serves as Head Women's Golf Coach for Central Michigan University and coach for Nike Junior Golf Camps.

    Head Women's Golf Coach, Central Michigan University

    Ryan Williams was named Central Michigan’s women’s golf coach in July 2022 by Zyzelewski Family Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan.


    Williams brings an impressive background in teaching and student-athlete development and has a proven track record in developing a quality team environment.

    Williams served as the head coach at Cleveland State during the 2021-22 season, leading the Vikings to one tournament victory, six top-five finishing including five top-three placings. His squad posted an overall head-to-head record of 78-29 for a .729 win percentage.

    Two of Williams’ student-athletes earned All-Horizon League honors as the Vikings placed third in the nine-team Horizon League Championships in April.

    Williams served as the men’s and women’s coach at Adrian from 2013-21, spearheading the effort to build the program’s indoor golf center. Williams began his coaching career at Clarkson as a volunteer assistant from 2011-13 while also serving as the assistant dean of undergraduate admissions.

    Williams earned a bachelor of arts degree with a major in financial economics from Rochester where he was a two-time Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon Scholar All-American, a two-year team captain, twice earned First Team All-Liberty League honors, and twice was named to the All-University Athletic Association First Team.

    In 2008, he was named the UAA Player of the Year and the UAA Rookie of the Year.

    Fernandes joins the Eagles after a stint as assistant coach with the University of Louisville during the 2022-23 season.

    A 2012 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, Fernandes has been working in the game of golf as an assistant golf professional, a college coach and a teaching professional since obtaining her degree. Prior to her time with the Cardinals, Fernandes spent time as a golf fitness specialist and teaching professional at notable courses around the country including The Quarry in La Quinta, California and Scarsdale Golf Club in Hartsdale, New York. In those roles, she was tasked with player development through private, group, clinic instruction and developed academy's, on course clinics, and mental side strategy. She also gained exposure in improving golf performance by working with body movement and developing individual programming for the body and strength.

    In addition to her time at Louisville, Fernandes has coaching stops at Spalding University and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she focused on redesigning the practice plan, analyzing tournament statistics and administration, and improving recruitment.

    Fernandes is Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 certified, Positive Coaching Alliance, US KIDS & Operation 36 certified, and TaylorMade club fitting, Callaway club fitting, Flightscope, Trackman, and V1 Pro certified.

    Dan Wesley is the Head Men's Golf Coach at University of Rochester. Dan has also directed Nike Junior Golf Camps in Rochester, NY in previous years and will serve as the Camp Coordinator for the Nike Golf Camp at Drew University.

    Head Coach Dan Wesley returned to his alma mater in 2007 to take over the Yellowjacket golf program and recently completed his 16th season as head coach in 2022-23.

    Wesley has guided the ‘Jackets to 24 tournament victories, 31 runner-ups, and 81 top-3 finishes in 139 events.

    Last season, the Yellowjackets ranked number two in school history, shooting a combined 300.8 scoring average across nine tournaments. UR won the Fred Kravetz Invitational, shooting a record score of 593, added a win at the St. John Fisher Invitational and was runner-up at the Hershey Cup. Junior Kerry Wang was named an All-American and three golfers, Wang, Gary Pan, and Brendan Frain earned All-Region honors.

    2021-22 was a record-setting award season for Rochester, as Wesley coached four golfers to All-Region 2 accolades and five to GCAA All-America Scholar praise.

    Declan Hickton was named a GCAA Honorable Mention All-American in 2020-21. He was selected as an individual to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships and placed in the top half of the field.

    UR claimed the Liberty League Championship in 2016-17 for only the third time in school history, as the Yellowjackets tallied 1,233 strokes over the 72-hole conference event spanning tournaments in the fall and spring seasons. At NCAA's UR placed 26th of 42 squads, missing the cut after scoring 637 through two rounds.

    Wesley was voted as the Liberty League Coach of the Year in 2016-17, his second award, after being recognized by the league in 2013-14.

    In 2013-14, Rochester claimed the Liberty League Championship in a match play format which earned them an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship in Greensboro, NC where they set a program scoring record in NCAA competition and finished 12th in the nation.

    Individual honors earned under Wesley’s guidance include All-American honors Nick Palladino (2011, 2012, 2013, & 2014) who also won the Phil Mickelson award for NCAA national Freshman of the Year, Jason Paek in 2018, Declan Hickton in 2021 and Kerry Wang in 2023. Palladino finished his career as the only 4-time All-American in program history.

    Wesley's golfers have claimed a total of 82 All-Conference accolades, including 34 1st Team honorees spanning the UAA and Liberty League. Nine have been selected either UAA or Liberty League Player of the Year.

    There have been 16 different All-American Scholars under Coach Wesley; Stephen Goodridge (2008), Jon Pecor (2008, 2009), Chris Driscoll (2010), Ryan Williams (2010, 2011), Dominick Schumacher (2015, 2016), G.W. VanderZwaag (2015, 2016), Jona Scott (2016, 2017), Daniel Luftspring (2016, 2017), Jason Paek (2017, 2018), Jack Mulligan (2019), Declan Hickton (2021), Nishant Datta (2021, 2022), Brendan Frain (2021, 2022), Lewis Raboy (2022), Tom Liu (2022) and Kerry Wang (2022).

    A 1994 graduate of Rochester, Wesley played for the legendary Don Smith and served as team captain his senior year. While at Rochester, Wesley played in three NCAA Championships, helping the Yellowjackets to a sixth place finish and their highest ranking ever in the national poll. Wesley also was a three time All-UAA selection.

    After graduating from Rochester with a B.S. in Psychology, Wesley served as an assistant golf professional at The Country Club of Rochester and at The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida before moving on to sales representative positions with both Maxfli and Srixon.

    While at The Country Club of Rochester, Coach Wesley learned under Sam Urzetta, the 1950 US Amateur champion and longtime Rochester sports legend, and his son Michael, the current head professional at CCR.

    Wesley is also a current member of the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame Committee, and is a past Chairman of the NCAA All-American Committee.

    Coach Wesley resides in Pittsford with his wife Kelly (UR ’00), daughter Emma, and son Jack.

    Jon serves as the Associate Head Women's Golf Coach at Duke University and also owns and operates Elite Level Golf. He will serving as Camp Coordinator for the Nike Golf Camps at Drew University.

    Jon is in his 10th season as the Associate Head Coach for the Duke University Women's Golf team, and also owns and operates Elite Level Golf. He has extensive experience working with players to help them to move from one level to the next level in their careers. He has coached women's and men's student-athletes that have gone on to win on 7 of the biggest tours in the world -- LPGA Tour, Ladies European Tour, Epson Tour, PGA Tour, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and Challenge Tour.

    Jon was named the WGCA GolfPride National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2021, and also was selected as a member of the coaching staff for Team USA for the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup. He has had a very successful collegiate coaching career over the past two decades, previously as the Associate Head Men's Golf Coach at Duke University (3 years) and the Head Men's Golf Coach at Ohio Wesleyan University (12 years). His teams have reached the NCAA Championship in 18 of those years, highlighted by 14 top-10 finishes. His teams have won over 70 tournament titles throughout his career. Whithaus is the only coach in NCAA Division I to coach both a men's team (2011) and women's team (2016, 2019, 2021) into the match play semifinals of the NCAA Championship.

Nike Golf Camps at Drew University offers each junior golfer the same opportunity to succeed. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced level golfer, our world-class instruction and coaching provides junior golfers with the necessary skills to compete and win. These camps offer training and real competition scenarios that develop every part of your game. During the week, campers work on short game, putting, approach shots, course management, and will test their new skills in weekly competitions and 18-hole tournaments. Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week.

    • *Reminder for Day campers: On the first day of camp, day campers will check-in at Drew University, be bussed to Fox Hollow Golf Club and must be picked up from the course following their golf round at 8:00 pm. During the week, day campers arrive at Fox Hollow Golf Club at 9:00 am and depart from Fox Hollow around 4:00 pm. On the final day of camp, day campers should arrive around 7:45 am to prepare for their morning golf round. Transportation for day campers will ONLY be provided to Fox Hollow after camp check-in on the first day.

  • Check-In: Registration for ALL campers occurs between 1:00-2:00pm at TBD Dorm on campus. Please come dressed and ready to play as afternoon golf session begins immediately following check-in. Day campers to be picked up at 8:00pm at Fox Hollow Golf Club Sunday/Thursday night.
  • Check-out: The closing ceremony occurs at 1:00pm at Fox Hollow Golf Club and check-out is to follow for day campers. Overnight campers will check-out from 2:00-3:00pm at TBD Dorm and departure is to follow.
  • Meals: Overnight campers will receive all meals during camp (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Day campers will receive lunch each day.
  • Program: The All Abilities program is designed to improve the fundamental skills needed for golf including putting, chipping, bunker play, and full-swing. On the first day of camp, all participants will be evaluated by the instructors and placed into groups based on age and ability level in various individual, small group and full group settings.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning instruction and afternoon course play at a rotation of golf courses.
  • Meals: Overnight campers will receive all meals during camp (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Day campers will receive lunch each day.
  • Supervision: Campers are under staff supervision at all times as staff members live in adjacent rooms to overnight campers. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
  • Camper Amenity Package: Campers will receive an amenity package including a Nike hat, drawstring bag, SRIXON golf balls, camp workbook, and graduation certificate.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:8 staff-to-camper ratio.
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own golf clubs, glove, golf balls, and tees.
  • Facilities: Fox Hollow Golf Club
  • Medical Protocol: Camp will have on-site staff to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
  • Housing:
    • Dorm: Riker Hall
    • Campers Per Room: Campers will be housed in double rooms.
    • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
    • Linens: Not included. Please bring blankets, sheets, towels and a pillow. Bed size is Twin XL.
    • Air Conditioning: TBD
    • Key Deposit: Please bring a check for $75 for room key deposit and one for $25 for lost access card made payable to “US Sports”. Check will be returned after the key card is turned in on the last day of camp.
    • Spending Money: We recommend that each overnight camper bring $60-75 per week of spending money to cover incidentals like snacks, souvenirs and other activities. Please bring cash in a marked envelope for your child.

TRANSPORTATION

Nike Golf Camps does not provide ground transportation from airports, train stations or bus stations. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for getting campers to and from camp check-in/out. If you have a child flying to camp, please visit the Newark Liberty International Airport website for information on ground service to and from campus. For Day Campers, If you are unable to drop off/pick up your child each day at Fox Hollow Golf Club due to distance, we are more than happy to provide transportation to and from Drew University for $40 per day ($160 for the week).

Fox Hollow Golf Club is a challenging par 70 golf course with extensive practice facilities and an award-winning restaurant with an "anything you can think of" menu. The practice facility is open year round, weather permitting. Fox Hollow was voted one of the top northeast golf courses by readers of Garden State Golf!
