Nike Baseball Camps offers camp at Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon
Nike Baseball Camps, a part of US Sports Camps, the largest provider of sports camps in the world, is excited to announce the addition of a new Oregon baseball camp. Directing the camp will be Western Oregon Head Coach Kellen Walker accompanied by his coaching staff. Camp will be held on campus at Western Oregon, in Polk County.
2020 is Coach Kellen Walker’s eighth year at the helm for the Wolves. Coach Walker has enjoyed a successful run during his time in Monmouth, winning 30 games in 2019 and most recently winning the GNAC Tournament Title in 2018. Walker’s Wolves have won 3 total regular season GNAC championships and four GNAC Tournament titles. Western Oregon also had four players drafted in 2019.
This five-day camp will be held Monday, July 6th through Friday, July 10th, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Campers of all levels will have the opportunity to improve their hitting, fielding, throwing skills and in-game situations. Camper get to train daily on WOU Baseball Field, home of the NCAA Division II Wolves. Every facet of the game is covered with an emphasis on fundamentals to help players become valuable team members. At each location, campers are broken into groups with other players of similar age, abilities and goals.
“This camp will offer players the opportunity to team up with an amazing coaching staff for a full week of camp. Each player will get the chance to refine their skills and see what it takes to play at the next level.” Says Josh Scriven, a Manager of Nike Baseball Camps. “We’re really excited to be offering this camp with Coach Walker, and the great facilities at Western Oregon University. The camp is sure to be a summer highlight for many young athletes.”
