Will Smolinski's is the Founder and Director of the Capital Ultimate Camp. Smolinski's vast ultimate credentials include: Capital Ultimate Camp Founder/Director (2008-present), P.E. and Health Teacher at Williamsburg MS (2004-present), Williamsburg MS Coach (2006-present), YHB Varsity Boys Coach (2005-2012), Truck Stop Coach (2013-present), and DC Current Defensive Coordinator (2013-present).
GETTING TO KNOW...
Will Smolinski - Founder and Director of the Capital Ultimate Camp
When and how did you get into playing ultimate?
"I started playing at Truman State University in 1999 when I was a freshman. When I was in High School I had played some intense frisbee keep away games with my brother's friends who loved Ultimate."
What is the favorite team you ever played for?
"Truman State University. Hands Down. I will never love another like I love the first."
What is your favorite ultimate drill?
"For Middle School - Galaxy Wars or Huck Drill. For High School - Dueling Triangles or any flow drill. For Club/Pro - Crazy Dimension Scrimmages or 3 Throw Flow."
Why did you get in to coaching?
"Spirit of the game can be used to teach social responsibility, conflict resolution, respect, self awareness, and other great 'real life' skills that teenagers need practice with. I am a teacher, and it was a logical fit. "
