Nike Lacrosse Announces Camp Dates at Virginia Tech for Summer 2020

Daily emphasis on fundamentals, position training, drills and scrimmages.
Nike Lacrosse Camps, a division of US Sports Camps, is returning to Virginia Tech this coming summer to offer an instructional lacrosse camp opportunity for boys ages 10-18.
Known for its strong tradition of excellence in academics and athletics, Virginia Tech boasts some of the finest athletic facilities in the state. Nestled in Blacksburg between the Blue Ridge and Alleghany mountains, VT’s 12,000-acre campus is an ideal setting for camp.
The 2020 Nike Boys Lacrosse Camp is being held June 22-24 with both day and overnight camp options available. Directing the camp is new Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Panchito Ojeda along with this staff and some current VT players.
Ojeda joins the Hokies after a six-year stint at Sonoma State and replaces Tim O’Brien, who stepped aside after completing his PhD in Biomedical Engineering and accepting a job in industry.
"We are thrilled to welcome Panchito Ojeda to the Virginia Tech men's lacrosse program,” O’Brien said. “Panchito brings forth an abundance of coaching experience to the program. He will be a great mentor for our student-athletes on and off the field.
A native of the D.C. Metro area, Ojeda played his high school lacrosse at Bishop Ireton High School, graduating in 1999. He played four years at midfield for Marquette, earning numerous team and conference accolades.
“My staff and I are looking forward to offering camp this summer,” says Coach Ojeda. “It’s a grassroots teaching opportunity focused on improving lacrosse skills and having fun. It’s also a chance for younger players to experience campus life as a potential student athlete here at Virginia Tech.”
In addition to running the Sonoma program, he created a youth program (101 Lacrosse) based in Northern California. Prior to joining the Seawolves, Ojeda was the head coach at Marquette before the program’s leap to NCAA Division I.

“The Virginia Tech Men's Lacrosse Team has consistently been one of the top MCLA programs in the country,” states Paul Merrion, Senior Vice President at US Sports Camps. “In the off-season, Coach O’Brien and his staff love to help youth and high school players improve and refine every facet of their game in a positive, progressive and challenging environment.”
This camp has sold out the past two summers, so players are encouraged to register early.
