Smoky Mountain Running Camp Junior Counselors Achievements!
Each year, SMRC hires several counselors to coach and mentor your children. There are several levels of counselors at camp. A Junior Counselor is a current college student recognized as a successful runner and mature leader. All attened the Smoky Mountain Running Camp and are a rising college sophomore or junior who has served as a Junior Counselor In-Training (JCIT) with significant accomplishments (listed below).
Brett Austin
Ran a PR of 4:21 for 1 mile at the University of Kentucky Rod McCravy Invite indoors.
Ran a PR of 1:57.07 for 800m at the Hilltopper Relays at Western Kentucky University.
He is Pre-Med student majoring in Chemistry and Biology with a 4.0 GPA and will be starting my junior year at Western Kentucky in the fall.
Kyle Butler Recently, Kyle Butler won the US Army Fort Bliss Post 10k Championship with a time of 36:35.
