On November 7th the UCSC Women's Soccer program foudn out that they made it to the NCASS playoffs in Thousand Oaks. After a disapointing season in 2010, being back in the championship hunt was fantastic! In the first round, the Slugs defeated #10 ranked team in the nation, California Lutheran University. An overtime defensive miscue by UC Santa Cruz provided a premium scoring opportunity for Concordia-Moorhead in the 2nd round. In the 98th minute Sarah Rounds stole possession from the Banana Slugs central defender and raced towards goal for a one-on-one with the keeper. From about 15 yards out she placed her shot low and to the right, outside the reach of goalkeeper Monica Chazen.
