2024 Top-Rated Nike Soccer Camp Directors
Nike Soccer Camps is excited to announce the 2024 Top-10 Rated Director Awards winners! The winners of the Top-Rated Director Awards have helped set an example of how we want our camps to be run across the nation. The quality of their camps is backed up by registration numbers, parent reviews, and the ease of collaboration between our offices and the camp staff. Each of the camps and directors honored by this award took great initiative and set high standards for all camps moving into 2025.
This year’s recipient of the 2024 Top-Rated Director Awards for Nike Soccer Camps is Leonard Griffin, director of San Francisco Soccer Camps. The SFSC camps accrued over 600 campers across 5 weeks of sold-out sessions and boasted an average score of 46.5/50.
We spoke with Leonard Griffin and asked him what he thinks is the key to running a successful camp. Here’s the insight he shared.
“At the heart of our camp is the belief that high character leads to high performance. As a player, I saw firsthand how the most successful teams — both in college and professionally — were built on strong values, discipline, and teamwork. As a college coach, I’ve carried that lesson into every team I’ve led. That’s why, when we brought the Cal Men’s Soccer experience to San Francisco Soccer Camp, we knew character development had to be embedded into our program.
But it’s not just about building strong individuals; it’s also about ensuring that the game remains fun. Just like with our college players, we make it a priority that every camper understands the joy of soccer. Too often, we see young athletes losing sight of why they fell in love with the game in the first place. At San Francisco Soccer Camp, we create a space where players can work hard, grow technically, and most importantly — have fun. It’s that balance of passion, skill, character, and joy that makes our camp so unique."
