Nike Volleyball Camps adds a Division I location in Connecticut
Nike Volleyball Camps just recently announced the addition of a new location in Hartford, CT for this upcoming summer. The Nike Volleyball Camp at the University of Hartford will be the second DI level camp offered in the state of Connecticut. Players will have an additional opportunity to train under elite level coaching. Campers will be directed by the Hawks Head Coach, Vinh Nguyen, and Assistant Coach, Jaime Snyder.
Both Nguyen and Snyder have an extensive history of coaching at the collegiate level. Before arriving to the University of Hartford, Nguyen was the Head Coach at North Texas, a coach of Cal State Fullerton’s team, an Assistant Coach at Cal Poly Pomona, and a staff member of the 2007 USA Men’s National Team. In addition, Coach Snyder was the Assistant Coach at Smith College and St. John’s Fisher College.
“I am extremely thrilled to have both Vihn and Jaime join our Nike Volleyball Camps family,” says Siera Love, VP of Nike Volleyball Camps. “They have so much knowledge and experience under their belt, and we excited to give players an opportunity to learn from them.”
This new Connecticut volleyball camp will offer an All Skills, Serving & Passing, and a Position Specialty program throughout the summer. Each session is designed to challenge their current skill level and work to improve their skills for the upcoming season.
The All Skills program will help players work on their fundamentals in all positions through various drills and games used by the Hawks’ volleyball players. The Serving & Passing Clinic is designed to help athletes focus on the serving fundamentals and evaluating each player to find a serve that best fits their skills. During the Position Specialty, players are able to hone their skills in a set position for the duration of the camp. Here, setters and hitters, will receive specialized training used by Division I level players.
These program offerings are open to girls, ages 10-18, of all ability levels, and will run throughout the month of July.
