US Sports Camps Launches Beach Volleyball Camps with p1440
With summer on the horizon, p1440 Volleyball Camps offers young volleyball enthusiasts the opportunity to learn from top coaches and hone volleyball skills.
SAN RAFAEL, California (May 22nd, 2023):
US Sports Camps is excited to partner with p1440 – co-founded by three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Kerri Walsh Jennings, and seven-time AVP Open Champion, Casey Jennings – in launching co-ed beach volleyball camps at The Sand Club in Arizona and Corban University in Oregon. As this summer quickly approaches, p1440 Beach Volleyball Camps offer an exceptional experience for young athletes looking to sharpen their skills, elevate their gameplay, and have fun with new friends.
The p1440 Beach Volleyball Camps take place at The Sand Club June 5-8 and Corban University July 24-27. The programs are geared toward beginner and intermediate players and place participants by age and skill level. Boys and girls ages 10-14 can engage in sessions from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Expert coaches and staff will teach volleyball techniques and mechanics in an engaging camp environment.
Dedicated to expanding opportunities in beach volleyball, p1440 equips athletes with the knowledge and confidence to thrive on and off the beach court. The organization empowers young volleyball players with sportsmanship, leadership, and personal development to help them reach their potential in their sport and their communities.
“At p1440, we are driven to create meaningful and impactful programming with youth-based partners, ensuring future generations have the tools and resources they need to make the most out of their fourteen hundred and forty minutes in the day,” said E. Ashley Dean, CEO. “We are thrilled to be partnering with US Sports Camps and firmly believe that our purpose-driven programming will allow participants to not only develop beach volleyball skills on the court, but also life skills off the court.”
EVP of Volleyball at US Sports Camps, Siera Love added, “TV viewership of US beach volleyball, and Kerri Walsh Jennings in particular, skyrocketed with each successive Olympics. Her phenomenal accomplishments transformed what was often considered a recreational sport into an exhilarating domestic and international competition. We’re thrilled to partner with p1440 to expand our volleyball portfolio with the addition of beach volleyball.”
Allen Alexander, owner and director of The Sand Club – Arizona’s largest sand volleyball club – will also serve as camp director for The p1440 Beach Volleyball Camp at The Sand Club. The Gilbert, AZ-based Sand Club hosts over 16 divisional leagues and over 500 players every week; the camp will take place at the centrally-located “Mesquite Beach” at Mesquite High School. Alexander is both passionate about and a champion for beach volleyball, nurturing the profile of beach volleyball and a vast corps of top performing players.
The p1440 Beach Volleyball Camp at Corban University is led by Corban University head beach volleyball coach, Diana Villalpando. Villalpando boasts 83 victories as a student-athlete and involvement in three Big Sky Regular-Season championships. In 2019, Corban became the first Oregon university to install on-campus beach volleyball competition courts, naming Villalpando as head coach. With courts set amid towering evergreens, the university is just one of two higher-ed institutions in Oregon to offer beach volleyball as a varsity sport. In 2022 lead her team to the first ever NAIA National title. In 2023 lead the team to the NAIA National championship match and took 2nd.
