Hosted at Westminster University, the camp combines top-tier instruction with an unforgettable summer experience. Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Softball Camps at Westminster, provides an incredible opportunity for campers to learn from amazing coaches. The camp staff is comprised of dedicated college coaches, high school coaches, and collegiate athletes who are committed to helping campers improve their skills and create memories that last a lifetime. The camp is open to girls, ages 12-17.

Westy McQueen is the owner and camp director for Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Sports Camps at Boise State University and Westminster University.

Marissa Chavez is the assistant coach for Utah Tech Softball. Marissa was a four-year starter at BYU, making over 100 appearances and being named First Team All-WCC.

Support Staff Kristen (Pat) Moore
Kristen (Pat) Moore is a player development coach for Seattle Fastpitch Club and serves as an assistant coach for the Nike Softball Camp at Westminster University. Kristen played Division I softball at DePaul University and University of Washington, where she won many awards including Big East Pitcher of the Year, All-Big East First Team, NFCA All-Region First Team, and 2X Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.

Sports Psychology Director Hope McQueen
Hope McQueen serves as the Sports Psychology Director for Next Athletes and provides sports psychology and performance support at the Nike Sports Camps at Westminster University and Boise State University. Hope is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and has a master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from California Baptist University.

Camp Details
Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

2024 CAMP INFORMATION
- Dates: June 17-21, 2024
- Age Group: 12-17
- Camp Type: Day Camp (commuter) | Overnight
- Day Camp Schedule: Monday 8:30am-4:00pm, Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm, Friday 9:00am-12:00pm
- Check-in: OVERNIGHT campers check-in between 7:30-8:00am on Monday in front of Hogle Hall. There will be camp staff at the entrance to direct you. Overnight campers will check into their dorm prior to arrival. DAY campers should arrive between 8:00-8:30am at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center. There will be a camp orientation at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center at 8:30am following check-in which we highly encourage the parent or guardian to attend. Parents are welcome to depart following orientation.
- Check-out: A closing ceremony will take place at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center 12:00pm on Friday. Day Campers will be picked up immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check-out from the dorm immediately following orientation.
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Day campers are required to bring their own lunch daily.

PARKING
OVERNIGHT parents may temporarily pull to the curb in front of Hogle Hall for a quick drop-off/pick-up of luggage. OVERNIGHT and DAY camp parents may park in the parking garage beneath Dumke Field (a short walk to Behnken Field House).
HOUSING
- Dorm: Hogle Hall
- Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Bathrooms: Shared
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: Yes
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are initially grouped by age and moved around accordingly based on skill level.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
TRAVEL
Nike Softball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT
If you have a group of campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a discount. Please have someone contact the US Sports Camps office at 1-800-645-3226 with the names of each camper in the group and we will create a unique discount code for your group. Campers may then register individually through the website at their convenience and apply the offer code during checkout. *Discount amount varies by program. Please call for details.
