Running and Self Confidence - Make Your Future Gains Limitless!

Feature Image For Brockport Tip

Every athlete has something unique about how they train or how they compete to achieve success. College of Brockport’s Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Danielle Novara gave us an inside scoop on what has contributed to her success as a runner and we want to share.

“A main key is finding your confidence,” says Novara. She constantly reminds herself and her athletes of what they are GOOD at, more than their failures. While it is easy to notice mistakes or failures the key is to move on quickly. “When you remind yourself of what you are capable of achieving is when we feel most powerful and your future gains are limitless,” says Novara.

Novara’s favorite race to run is the 1500. Before she runs she likes to “be a beast in her own mind.” Enter every race with a winner’s attitude, and put in the work to back it up!
