How to improve your bat speed by Coach Shores of Guilford College

Softball Bat Speed

At Guilford College, a popular drill to improve bat speed is the Quick Swing Drill. The drill is “to hit five balls as fast as you can get your bat back.” Coach Shores says this drill should be 5 reps 1o times.

This will help improve your bat speed by getting your hands and body through the ball and then immediately focusing on doing that same swing again.

It is stressed that while you do work on bat speed, you do not want to develop bad habits. Check out Nike Softball Camp Guilford College to improve your bad speed and maintain swinging habits this summer.
