Volleyball Camp in Farmingdale Added by US Sports Camps
Nike Volleyball Camps, a division of US Sports Camps, has added a new volleyball camp in Farmingdale, NYto their 2019 summer volleyball camp list. This camp will be held at Farmingdale State College, and will be directed by Head Volleyball Coach Kristy Nix and her staff.
Coach Nix became Head Coach of the Rams in 2017 and has many years of experience coaching at the high school and collegiate level. Before officially becoming a volleyball coach, she spent three years coaching division one basketball at Stony Brook University. With her comprehensive and broad coaching knowledge, Coach Nix and her staff will bring elite instruction to this New York volleyball camp.
“I am very excited about having the opportunity to team up with Nike to run our first volleyball camp with our program here at Farmingdale State College,” says Nix. “We are looking forward to connecting with our community and continuing to build the level of volleyball here on Long Island, while providing great coaching, and a fun and interactive environment with our team.”
Under Nix’s instruction, players are not only taught the physical aspects of the game, but the mental aspects as well. Coach Nix provides a high energy, uplifting, and open environment to help players of all abilities improve in the sport they love. This program provides players with high energy drills, advanced instruction, and game play to help improve skills and learn how to become a better teammate.
The volleyball camp at Farmingdale State College will have different options available for players to choose from. An all skills camp is set to run June 29-30, where girls can work on their fundamentals and improve as an overall player. Volleyball players looking to work in their position can attend the position specialty camp that will run July 13-14. At position specialty camp players will receive specialized training on the latest techniques as Hitters, Setters, or Liberos. Lastly, a one day serving clinic will run on August 10th, where instruction on serving techniques, tactics, and special serves will be taught.
