  • 7/23/2015 - The Director Thomas was unbelievable. He provided the best feedback and was extremely encouraging. I am considering purchasing a place in Sea Colony because it was a great experience and has great facilities.
  • The doubles lessons were great, both for beginners and advanced players
  • I LOVED this camp! The camp was equally balanced between stroke instruction and games. I think this approach allowed the campers time to incorporate new techniques into their tennis game real-time. Four campers to one staff member ratio gave the staff enough time individually assess each camper and provide personalized level-based feedback. The facilities were top notch! I plan to come back for future camps and would recommend to other people.
  • I really enjoyed the different drills including the one that included a video of our serves. Also the camp was fast paced and there was not a lot of standing around which was great. All of the pros were helpful yet fun. I enjoyed playing with folks that I had never played with before.
  • Coach Tom is personable, knowledgeable and tactful. He does not loose any precious time. He has the clinic very well designed so that every level can benefit. I’m recommending it to my friends. They already are putting together a group to take the clinic.
  • Instructors were terrific - they created a welcoming, friendly and fun atmosphere. They synthesized instructional feedback while conducting drills, giving examples and demonstrations so that attendees could learn/hone techniques and understand how to apply them in the context of a match. They balanced warmup, drills, and breaks thoughtfully, responding to players' needs and weather conditions as appropriate.
  • Thomas and all the instructors were great! My tennis buddies and I had so much fun. The center was lovely and drills and plays were excellent. I had an excellent private lesson as well and learned lots of great tips and techniques. I would love to come back soon and hope to be able to this summer!
  • I picked up the sport of tennis five years ago and have been to many camps and tennis clubs. Sea colony by far was the best and well organized camp! The instructors were experienced and made you feel comfortable with their sense of humor and shared a lot of knowledge of the game of tennis. I learned a lot and was very impressed.
  • Overall good experience. Good balance of fundamentals, mechanics and play strategy.

  • August 2024: Gene is the BEST teacher -- I always learn so much from him and have so much fun!

  • The teaching pros were the most professional , well mannered , respectful, encouraging , extremely skilled gentleman I have ever met and been instructed by!
  • Jean was awesome as were the other assistant pros
  • Gene! He was a great teacher and had such a positive attitude.
  • I loved the drills! And Gene was an AWESOME camp director. All of the pros were great.
  • It was all very good. The coaches are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I really enjoyed it.
  • The pros and their positive fun attitudes- they made it a great experience! Love Ethan, jayden, Liam, and Russell
  • Coach Gene taking specific notice of my serve FROM HIS KNEES to offer fixes; his suggestion is to use a tennis ball on my hip to effect a better hip turn.
  • The camp was awesome. Facilities were perfect, and the instruction was solid and very well organized. But what stood out most was the energy of the instructors--particularly with Ethan. He and his team knew all of our names, used them often, were very proactive in observing our play (even from across the court) and shouting encouragement and correction. He is remarkable!
  • Thomas and his staff were exceptional. Personable, knowledgeable, fun, and encouraging.
  • Camp director was fantastic. Loved the 1:4 ratio of camper to instructor

SKILL LEVELS & GROUP PLACEMENT

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. Participants are then sorted by ability first, then age per the Camp Director's discretion - adjustments are made as needed during camp.

While there are many ways to define skill levels, the following descriptions are what the Camp Directors at Nike Tennis Camps will use to organize and group camp participants. At the time of registration, please choose the level that best represents your experience:

  • Beginner: Players who are new to the game and have little to no formal instruction. They are focused on learning the fundamentals and the basic rules of tennis. Typically play for recreation and have very little or no match-play experience. USTA rating of 3.0 or lower, or no rating.

  • Intermediate: Players who can serve and maintain rallies with some consistency. They are fairly reliable with medium-paced shots but may struggle with certain strokes and lack precision in directional control and power. Generally play recreationally at their local club with mach play experience. USTA rating of 3.5+.

  • Advanced: Players with dependable strokes and strong directional control. They display an all-around competitive spirit, improved court coverage, and are developing strategies for both singles and doubles play. These players compete regularly at local clubs or travel to participate in USTA tournaments. USTA rating of 4.0+

MEALS

  • Meals are not included in the camp tuition. Participants should come prepared with their own lunch, water, and any additional snacks.
